And FWIW, Peter King said yesterday that when he went to the training camp, the best offensive player on the field for him was Jalen Hurd.
So the Aiyuk draft in a way worries me a little bit. What does that say about Hurd´s recovery?
I guess I should take it more as Aiyuk is the E-Man replacement.
The player is good, don´t get me wrong. I way prefer him than Denzel Mims for example and he´s a super fit in Kyle´ s offense.
I more than happy with him and Kinlaw. Two exciting players.

That being said Kyle saying that Aiyuk is his number one receiver with Ceedee is just so funny. I mean Kyle come on.^^

Well he could have had Lamb and Blacklock if he wanted so have to somewhat believe him.

What excellent starters do you think will be available in round 5?

Kittle was a 5th

He's an exception. That doesn't happen often. You're acting like it's a fact that there's excellent starters in this draft in the 5th round. Yes it's a deep WR class but that's still only about 10 players that are worthy of going in the top 2 rounds.

Dre Greenlaw

Yes, we all know there have been picks in the later rounds that turn out to be good players. We needed to add top end talent, not build depth. Aiyuk is rated higher coming out of college than Sanders any of our current wide receivers.

Isn't that what they did? Not sure of your point

Yes. I'm saying it was worth it to trade up. We didn't need the picks in the later rounds.
Seems we all have plenty of time to watch some Arizona State games and judge for ourselves.
Cowboys messed it all up by drafting the WR. Philly was eyeing the same WR and Aiyuk probably drops to 31. So we have to jump ahead of them. Oh well. These guys will be immediate impact players and thats what you need with this team. Not even a guarantee the 4th rounder sticks with the team, since the team is so deep.
Awesome.

Aiyuk has the best release in the draft.

Also, best after the catch.

He gets separation, consistently.
I honestly didn't see many of his games last year. He looks good in highlights (don't they all) and he has a huge wingspan but I have to admit I'm a little cool on PAC12 receivers. They haven't had a lot of success in the NFL in recent years. There have been a few that did okay but not a lot of stars.
Question on Pac-12. My biggest concern of drafting Pettis was his tape never had anybody physically challenged him, free releases and some of the worst coverage I've ever seen...got to the NFL and curled up in the fetal position.

Was Aiyuk challenged hard? Much better tape? No physicality concerns?

He can get physical. I wouldn't be concerned with that

They spent a 4th on a punter last year, that's just as good as giving it away

I don't believe him at all when he says he had Aiyuk over every other WR. I think if both he and Lamb are available at 25 he takes Lamb. But he obviously can't say that. In 2017 he said had Thomas not been available he would taken Foster who they took as their other first round pick (sound familiar) The difference between Lamb/Blacklock and Kinlaw/Aiyuk is the drop off in talent between the DT's compared to WR's. I'm totally good with that and trust Shanny with this offense obviously.

He's more Deebo than Pettis when it comes to toughness.

That's good because the X demands that.

Is it really that crazy though for him to have him rated as his #1 WR? While i Personally didn't have him rated that high. I was debateing having him rated as my 3rd WR.

Statistically. He did not have much of a different season then Jeudy and Lamb. He also had a worse QB throwing to him then both of them. Aiyuk had more receptions then Lamb and had about 100 yards less production then lamb this season. He had less receptions then Jeudy but more yards. Again, with a worse QB then both of them. So I don,t think it is some crazy stretch for someone to like him the most out of all Wrs in the draft. Only time will tell the truth. Kyle is one record for liking him the most and ceedee the second most. So we will find out if kyle is actually any good at scouting WRs.
