I'm not taking blame away from Aiyuk. He is obviously not performing up to expectations. However, when you bring in Pettis for the split end position and he doesn't work out. Now you move up to draft a guy in the first round and now he is struggling to play that position. Perhaps some of the blame should be redistributed to those bringing in these players.
Also, if you cannot see what is obvious. That an entire offense is not performing as a cohesive unit. I don't know what to tell you. Deebo is the only standout so far this season so, yes their is plenty of blame to go around.
wtf does pettis have to do with Aiyuk's struggles? lol
I think his point is if you keep having guys who don't perform at the position when you invest high picks on it...then the scouting and decision making on adding thsoe players should get flack.
Personally I think Aiyuk will be fine when it's all said and done. I think the coaches expect more out of him and that's ok to say. Pettis had other issues, Aiyuk isn't on that level imo. I think part of Aiyuk's struggles this year were related to his injury, some to the QB selections on plays when he's out there but also yes...some on his end which is likely what the Shany/Lynch regime are talking about.
