No no I'm saying go with extra tight ends! Mathews is faster than both Sanu & Jennings
Use him in the Jordan Reed mold, him & Kittle. Just know Mathews is not a blocker & open up the offense with TE's not these terrible receivers

Same thing with Pettis. He was looking like a #1 until the #1 QB showed up. It looks like a rinse and repeat with Aiyuk.
I've been wondering about that.
Even last week with the rookie QB; Aiyuk showed he had some shifty moves.
People clamoring for Cee Dee Lamb? He wouldn't be the same player on the Niners. Probably be labelled a bust.

They need a QB. Its just laughable. You put these weapons on the Cowboys, they'd get 1300 yards because of Dak.
On the field Ive seen no reason for Aiyuk to be hated on or get less targets than Sanu and Juice (what a joke). Off the field or in practice who knows Im just as clueless as everyone else, BUT I can say with 1,000% certainty that Shanahan and these QBs arent maximizing BA's talent. He may need to step up, show urgency or whatever other phrase you wanna throw out there but this offense for damn sure isnt getting the most out of him.

Also if you want to bring up Lamb watch how Dallas uses him. He is used all over field (slot, split out, screens, rushing attempts) . Same goes for Amari Cooper. I guess the Cowboys are a bit more open minded than some folks in here who think Aiyuk has to play split end at all costs and get 5 yards of separation vs man coverage all game long. Shame on yal

I expect a big change in usage for Aiyuk coming out of the bye week. Its a MUST at this point and if Kyle cant figure it out that says alot.

Right get Sanu the f**k off the field and get BA the ball.

the offensive genius can't develop a passing game, but Mike McCarthy can do it.....

well, a good quarterback would certainly help a lot too.
I'll say the same here that I said about Pettis. This offense is Kyle's. Kyle is the QB. Just like when Kyle featured Pettis after the bye-week or Hurd in the pre season game or Aiyuk last year or Kittle in 2019 or Deebo this year or Mostert in the playoffs, etc. it all starts with him.

This is why I never bought into the Pettis hype translating over. Plus all the other issues he had. But if Kyle wants to feature you, he will.

As to WHY Kyle isn't featuring him, that's fair to speculate. Kyle may not feel like he's winning enough TO be featured.

As you can see, Aiyuk has had plenty snaps. He's just not being featured.

But keep an eye on this next game. It wouldn't surprise me if he was featured and 9erland crawls out of the panic hole.
He might be going through the sophomore jinx. Some players regress in year 2 before getting back on track. Who knows why. Maybe they don't work as hard which the coaches would probably see. Anyway, let's hope he plays better the rest of the year and certainly in years to come.

All of this.
Maiocco right now on KNBR says his lack of reps and playing time is "work ethic".

Last year we had no choice but to start him, this year there's lots of WRs putting in the effort in prep including practice. So Maiocco says the lack of playing time and production is "on him".

Exactly what I've heard Maiocco say on another occasion here on Bay Area sports talk radio.

And Lynch too, but less direct.

Aiyuk probably wants to be just like other Diva WRs and Kyle and Lynch want him to go with a team first mentality.

Maiocco said when they did his background they never saw work ethic issues so this was a surprise to them.
