I'm sure they called Herm Edwards, told him, nah Aiyuk ain't cook'n you in your prime. Ain't doing much cooking right now.

Is he totally over the hamstring yet... seemed slower on the field.

Cheers!

Nice video, jd. I think it's easy to get into the train of thought that player progression is a steady upward trajectory. I hope that when he watches himself on tape, he understands why he isn't having the same success as he did last season. I still hate Lynch calling Aiyuk out in public, but players will respond to that differently. Hopefully Aiyuk isn't the type to sulk.

The most concerning part for me is both Lynch and Kyle have called him out publically now and that's usually a very last resort.

Maybe he deserves it (getting called out in public), I don't know, but I think that's a dangerous game to play. We can say that a player needs to put on his big boy pants and accept the tough love, just never know with players nowadays. Dangle the carrot or crack the whip?

Yeah. You'd like to think though, that John Lynch having played at a high level in this league and playing with some real good players over the years and spending so much time in locker rooms that he'd have a good handle on a guy's mental makeup. I'm sure this is nothing Aiyuk hasn't heard and one thing we can appreciate about the organization is that they don't shy away from telling it how it is some times. They'll lay it out there and it is what it is.

Personally, I lead a team of people and I wouldn't do that unless I'd had multiple conversations with that person and I knew they were working hard and was putting out in a way to be honest but offer encouragement. It wasn't like they said, "well, he's just been a disappointment". They said, "he needs to take the next step" and talked about how much they believe in him and how hard of a worker he is.

I don't love it, understand it and don't hate that he said it.

I have no doubt they've spoken behind closed doors with Aiyuk. Like you said, they are frank with their players and they have said repeatedly that honesty is what players appreciate. I'm just not sure if also going publicly is the right move. Lynch being a Hall of Famer carries weight as opposed to some football guy in a suit.

Thank you, good sir.
Thank you for the video. It really puts in perspective how the issues on this team go way above and beyond jimmy. It makes me sick that we had lamb, jeudy, and jefferson available there at the first pick.

I wouldnt write him of just yet. He just needs to put in the work.

To be fair, a couple of his watchers called out your video as an explanation on why BA hasn't been getting targets. All Crock does is rag on Jimmy and then when you look at the tape, Jimmy doesn't throw deep balls because his deep threat receiver can't get any separation (or Mack and Brunskill get immediately blown up).

I'm wondering this as well. Is BA 100% healthy. It's hard for stuff to heal when you're slightly banged up but not too banged up to miss the game.

I read somewhere that Aiyuk bulked up in the off season. It could be a contributing factor as he may have put on a few pounds of muscle but in turn lost a step.
