His continued emergence will prove to be one of the most important events of the season for this team. As others have said: He "unlocks" the offense.

He looked much better out there today. I thought he made a couple of nice catches.

He made a lot of nice catches, especially in man coverage, the TD was sweet.

I think we all knew he had it in him - nice to see him have a nice game.

Definitely. It's a step In the right direction.

He has looked much quicker off the line recently

He started season off slow and something else, looking poor compared to last yr. but then, somewhere 3-4 games ago, he looked different …and super quickness was one thing and the other was he started using fakes…good fakes…to get off the LOS and also to fake out the CBs. Once he did both, he ended up actually better than last yr. The quickness thing…unhhh….how does make oneself "quicker"? IDK but he has.

I mean he´s freaking talented.

You can probably say the same thing about Dante Pettis.

Yes but in my mind, Aiyuk was way more impressive in his rookie season. He was legit playing like a true WR1 at times last year. I never had this feeling with Pettis.

I think a big part of his production last year was that he was our primary threat with Kittle and Deebo out with injury.

It's really interesting to see how our offense comes together with these three guys in a run-first offense. Today's game was very telling—Deebo's going to be a gadget player that lines up anywhere and can do it all. Kittle is going to abuse linebacker and safety mismatches. Aiyuk is probably a better "pure" wide receiver, so he's probably who we look to in man-to-man situations.

Shanahan found a way for them all to be involved in the offense today and the results were great.

I suppose the effort and the growing confidence is yielding results. Another big thing is building trust and chemistry with Jimmy.

He also was recovering from a hamstring injury.
Aiyuk looking strong at the point of the catch like Deebo today

When Shanahan gets Deebo, Aiyuk, & Kittle involved, plus whoever is at RB, the offense is lethal. The Kittle TD was great, he was covered, Jimmy threw it to where Kittle could get it, was great, same with the Aiyuk TD, great footwork by Aiyuk to stay in, and Deebo's TD run, man, when Jenkins shoved him, he had such nice footwork, to stay in bounds and get in the endzone.

That was a big misfire. Same with Hurd. Expensive mistakes. Good thing they seem to do well in the 5th rounds and lower.

We need to find a #3 WR, agree Pettis & Hurd were busts, I even said so here in my latest article after the Win, https://49erscap.com/index.php/2021/11/21/15-things-that-weve-learned-so-far-this-season-both-good-bad/.

Great points in the article about the 3rd WR and DJ jones! Looking to see you win the Pulitzer someday!

I wish, lol, but appreciated the compliments, and words as always my friend,
I'm almost ready to put Aiyuk in the list of players who are basically at the top of their game.

FB Kyle Juszcyzk
WR Deebo Samuel
WR Brandon Aiyuk
TE George Kittle
LT Trent Williams
DE Nick Bosa
MLB Fred Warner

All made an impact today, key to today's win, if they can do this going forward, we're a team no one wants to play IMO.
I think Aiyuk's biggest growth so far this season is his willingness to run block. I also think his half ass efforts in run blocking early in the season is the reason for being in Shanahan's "dog house." I believe his efforts in both blocking and route running are why he is starting to get targets.
