Yeah, our standards seem low across the board for players. We need to hold everyone to the same standard the Jimmy crowd holds for Jimmy. And I don't mean that in a slight. Most of these coaches and players have been here for a long time now.

9 year vets are going to have a different standard then 2nd year guys.

Especially QBs. Welcome to the NFL where QBs have been over scrutinized since the 80s.
He looks a bit puffy to me. Especially in the face and neck. I'm thinking he got a little overweight coming in to camp and it effected his effort levels.
I was also never as high on him as some in here. He put up good #s and some big time splash plays….but he seems to fight the ball instead of being a natural pass catcher.
Looks like a decent number 2 Imo... I thought yesterday would be his Time to shine, especially with Deebo out. Maybe next game...

He just doesn't have that killer mentality that's needed to be a #1 in this league like deebo.

Not for first round picks. See also, Kinlaw, Bosa, McGlinchey, Foster, etc.
Where are we in drops this year?

Had a good game IMO, the first target was an overthrow by Jimmy, the incompletion, idk, I don't get what a catch is and isn't anymore.

That was a huge drop in the 4th quarter. It was close, and at the end of the day, you catch the ball cleanly and don't let the referee make the decision.

He never had control. It was a clear drop. Letting that punt bounce by him was bad as well. And his attempt to tackle on the fake punt return was pathetic.

I don't think there was anything wrong with his effort on the fake punt tackle attempt. He was being blocked.

Here are his numbers compared to the other 4 first rounders last year. BA is squarely in the middle of the pack.

Justin Jefferson: 78 catches / 1209 yards / 7 TDs
Ceedee Lamb: 57 catches / 829 yards / 6 TDs
Brandon Aiyuk: 35 catches / 487 yards / 3 TDs
Jerry Jeudy: 28 catches / 330 yards / 0 TDs
Jalen Reagor: 26 catches / 208 yards / 2 TDs
Not 1st round picky worthy
Didn't the team trade up for this guy?!

His numbers would be a lot better if he had a better QB guarantee it.
Improving, but need to be even stronger at the point of the catch. Deebo had his time with drops too. Seemed like he got stronger compared to years past. Hopefully Aiyuk can do the same.
I'm not sure if this is a sophomore slump or just the inability of Jimmy to get the ball to this guy. I don't think it's a slump. Even if it is, his story is not written. There have been a ton of high-profile players throughout history who slumped in year 2 and then became pro-bowlers in year 3 and beyond. We all know what this guy can do.
