I feel like Aiyuk would thrive with a QB that is capable of throwing him open on things like fades and back shoulders. Jimmy wasn't that guy; I don't think that's Trey right now. Maybe he could develop into that type of thrower in time.
I guess a simple way to put it is I think Aiyuk could be Davante Adams if he had Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball.

Posters tried to call him a bust, pettis 2.0
Yup, I never understood when people said he was the wrong pick, a bust, picked too high, etc....

Definitely someone to be excited about for next year. He could legitimately look like a top-10 WR by the time next season's done. The ceiling is absolutely up there. And think about how Deebo could theoretically (though that may be impossible given his crazy yards per touch this year) be more effective—or at least perform at a similar highly efficient per touch basis—with slightly fewer touches and in a more balanced offensive attack. Same goes for Kittle — the more legit threats we have — along with a QB who can get them the ball all over the field — the better for everyone
I can't imagine what it'll cost to keep Aiyuk in addition to Deebo, I'm 100% confident they'll extend both, but the good thing about Aiyuk is he's not eligible until after 2022, plus he has the 5th-year option, but, like with Bosa, I think they'll do a deal before his 5th yr, plus in 2024 & beyond the cap will be going way up each year thanks to the new TV deals.
We have some good problems. I hope this team can go all the way because the players are there and we can't hang onto everyone forever.

I love Aiyuk but how the hell did he go out of bounds? I though he had regained his balance and was going to score. I still can't understand how that happened.
same
Like a ghost pushed him out of bounds.
It looked like he thought a safety was about to blow him up and went out of bounds to avoid contact. We needed those 4 points.

Didn't Deebo score on that drive?

oh yes he would... he'll be as good as AB if we can somehow send him down the field the way we used to send PETTIS... I'm not sure why that deep post got taken out of the game planning..

If Shanny was a wizard like you, Aiyuk would be scoring those deep TDs and winning SBs every year

Brandon Aiyuk is out here begging for the Niners to throw downfield to him. Looking forward to Trey Lance answering his plea
