One more fit that's considered really, really strong: Arizona State WR Brandon Aiyuk going to the Niners. "He's a true route-runner, and he's the best RAC [run after catch] receiver in the draft," said one AFC college scouting director. "That's ridiculous that they got him, and they'll be able to line him up with Deebo [Samuel] and [George] Kittle. He's strong, he can make people miss and he's a real threat in the return game. I'd be very surprised if that's a miss." It's also worth mentioning how good Kyle Shanahan is at identifying and coaching receivers, as part of all this.

Shanahan is going to scheme him open, it should be pretty clear by now that he wants a roster filled with guys on offense that can create huge plays out of nothing and be able to house it from pretty much anywhere on the field.
If your WR1, WR2, WR3, TE and RB are all threats to turn a ten yard pass into a thirty yard gain, that is going to be a nightmare for defenses to deal with, knowing that one poor tackle attempt can lead to a guy like Deebo, Kittle or Aiyuk rumbling through the back end of your defense with a full head of steam.

Great post Phoenix, I guess that's one way of looking at it.
I just wonder why this isn't working with Pettis & Goodwin?

It's hard to justify aggressive trade-up for a guy who is 5'11. NOBODY had him WR5 or lower. Kyle may have loved him as a scheme fit, but he's not really a WR1 type stud in any way. Not sure anyone was in this draft, which is why they all fell after 15 despite their agents paying SI for a cover etc. No Julio Jones's, Dez Bryant, Megatron.
Aiyuk may not have been my #1, but the traits he has lead me to believe his ceiling is on the level of OBJ. Even their play style is very, very similar. Looking at other similarities:
Stats in Last College Season
Beckham: 59 rec, 1152 yards, 8 TDs
Aiyuk: 65 rec, 1192 yards, 8 TDs
Measurables
Beckham: 5-11 198 4.43, 38.5-inch vertical, 32 3/4" arm length, 10" hands, 7 reps on the bench
Aiyuk: 6-0 205 4.50, 40-inch vertical, 33 1/2" arm length, 9 3/4" hands, 11 reps on the bench
Other Notes
Both were used in the return game for their teams. Beckham had 2 career PR TDs, Aiyuk had 1.
Both ASU and LSU used pro concepts in the route trees that they ran.

Because 1 is soft and the other can't stay healthy to save his life along with the family issues the last 2 years

Soft can only explain so much. Pettis had a very good and productive season in his first season in the NFL as a rookie WR. Was he soft back then? I would say he was soft and productive.
