Big time. He didn't give a crap about whether Kittle scored a touchdown. Just walked off the field.

He has been working his ass off all off season. Came into camp ready to go, making highlight reel catches. Players and coaches boasting about him throughout the summer. Now he has become an after thought because his skills are being severely under utilized in this offense. I am sure he feels very unappreciated. The film shows he is getting the job done more times than not but the stat sheet says otherwise. Get this man the damn ball.

I agree. But it ain't going to happen. Deebo is Jimmy's guy and Kyle will clearly dial him up over Aiyuk. Next year that chemistry and play calling should switch.

Its not just Deebo. The film has shown him being targeted over TE1 (understandable) and TE2. I also cannot say he lacks targets either. But him and Jimmy's strengths are so polar opposite it makes it tough for them to get on the same page. We are going to need them to figure it out if we want this offense to really take off.

That's a great point about the TE's too. It's going to be Deebo + TE (does Jennings count?) targets followed by Aiyuk, Ray-Ray/Gray and Arby's last.

Probably a combination for how Kyle calls plays knowing Jimmy's strengths and Jimmy himself.

You nailed it on the non-matching skill sets.

He was last year. I think he was more excited than anyone for Trey. Just hope he can remain cool.

I'm just mad it's another year wasted without seeing that connection. I really thought and expected Aiyuk to go off with Trey this year

But then you probably have a down tick for Deebo. So pick your primary. That's how a run centric offense rolls.

I wish it varied week to week. I don't think we can be that team now, but maybe in the future. Get some OL that can both run and pass block when called upon and Kyle can call a game where he does whatever he wants.
This man deserves better than page 2.

How can one recognize this:

Against the Panthers he put the ball in the air 30 times – the first time he's ever done so in a game that lopsided.

And still say this?

As Garoppolo gets rolling and San Francisco's offense climbs out of its early-season rut, expect Aiyuk's box score stats to blow up.

Unless Kyle just fully let's go here and becomes pass-centric, a fan should expect a different primary each week and a continual low volume of targets to go around.

That's just how we're built and designed. Jimmy's job is to stay efficient esp. on 3rd downs, control the TOP, and not turn the ball over.

I'd love to "let it fly" and throw all over the field and get big FF numbers for everyone too.

Either way, I do see Aiyuk becoming more of a feature soon. He will lead the team in targets one of these games soon, IMHO.

I still think Deebo is going to get his touches regardless because Kyle makes sure with the screens and handoffs. Aiyuk would've benefitted with Trey for the fact he has his full trust, will make the throws further down where Aiyuk excels and when things break down that's even more passes going to him or even Deebo.

Probably very true. And Kyle would feature him more too knowing those strengths of each, assuming he trusts the OL. BA's time will come. I'm proud of his growth though. Catch those thrown your way and work inside, you'll get more esp. with defenses keyed in on Deebo.

YUCK is being misused ... so talented but not being used enough.. reminds me so much of #44..
At least Lance will target the hell out of Aiyuk next year. He is open so often but James Richard never throws it his way or even looks on his direction

At least Jimmy said that his time is coming and Kyle mentioned that as well. He's going to go off this week I think. We will force it to him the same way we forced it to Kittle in the first quarter last week
I don't want Jimmy to force the ball to anyone. I want Jimmy to read the post snap coverage well and throw it to the open receiver.

You're getting closer to finding out your answer on the "forcing the ball" concern

When I say forcing the ball I simply mean throwing it to an open receiver or rather looking his way. Actually a wide-open receiver which is what he is a lot of the time. Jimmy just fails to look his direction or have the balls to throw it to him. This has to change.

In the NFC championship game last year he was wide open so many times and if Jimmy just looked his direction and threw it we would've won probably by double digits

Agreed. I think of the 49ers offense in the 1980s & 1990s and the ball distribution more or less went like this

1a- the RB & FB (Could be Craig, Rathman, Watters. Floyd, Tyler, Cooper, etc). The backs collectively would have the most or second most catches and targets.

1b- the primary receiver (Cpuld be Jerry Rice or Dwight Clark, depending on which era of 49ers we are talking). This player can also be 1a some years.

2- the tight end (Francis or Jones). This seemed to be pretty consistent no matter the coach or era.

3- the 2nd receiver (Solomon, Clark once Rice emerged, John Taylor, and Stokes/Owens early in their careers). This is where Brandon Aiyuk seems to be with seemingly less opportunities than his predecessors had. He will have to make his plays when he can with Jimmy as starter. Think Alvin Harper. That b*****d killed us but never put up huge receiving numbers. Its going to be this way until Lance is back there in my opinion.
