I'm not entirely sure how we only managed to score a measly 14 pts against the Falcons with Aiyuk, Deebo and Kittle.

It's mind boggling.

We aren't a passing team and when run game is abandoned, generally bad things happen.

It's not that hard to understand. The Falcons dominated the TOP by running the ball and converting on 3rd downs. Our possessions were limited. We did not force any TOs either.

Falcons had 8 drives and we had 10. We moved the ball pretty well. We just could not capitalize on most of our possessions due to penalties, drops, int's and the run game getting stuffed. We only converted 3 of 8 on 3rd down.

How many drops were there? I know there were a couple that prevented big gains but I see drops every week. They need to overcome those. It may be my imagination but it seems like the 49ers throw passes into the end zone less than other teams. TD passes are often short passes that are run into the end zone.Yesterday was an example of that. Two screen passes behind the line that were run in vs a pass directly into the end zone. A TD is a TD but too often players get stopped short and we fail to get the TD so we have to kick a FG. FGs instead of TDs put you one score closer to a loss. Jennings and Kittle should both be good direct end zone targets. This team should be able to score more in the 2nd half with the personnel they have. No excuses.

Did I say it was all drops? I could have sworn I had a laundry list of reasons why 80% of our drives didn't result in scores.

I will stay adamant that the deep pass to Aiyuk was underthrown. Even though Jimmy did the things I wanted to see from him this game so I thought he did well overall.

It was completely underthrown. Aiyuk had to slow down and jump for it when he had his guy beat for a touchdown if Jimmy throws it further

Can you guys tell me around when this play was? I have the game recorded but haven't watched it all yet, missed most of it and had to listen on the radio.

I want to say it was in the second quarter I'm so sorry I don't remember the time frame. I was too pissed off with all the injuries and our back up defense not being able to stop their run, even though it was expected

Touché, and good point. I do agree about the 2nd INT being a drive killer because I believe we had gained 20+ yards already. Also one of our drives ended the 1st half. I feel like Deebo was interfered with on that 1st INT also.

If he really wants to be a True No.1 he needs to be making those big catches, example the long ball against the falcons and that threw from last week Jimmy threw with pressure.

The long hall vs the Falcons was an easy td if Jimmy didn't under throw it.

agreed, but if he wants to act or be a No.1 you have to start making the catches that make you stand out as a No.1 and hes had plenty throughout the past 2-3 weeks and have shown nothing spectacular on those opportunities.
This is f**king amazing:

Brandon Aiyuk against Jalen Ramsey worked him for a would-be touchdown but Jimmy Garoppolo missed him.

This week Brandon Aiyuk worked AJ Terrell with the same kind of route for a touchdown.

He's beating all pro corners with ease. Get him the damn ball. Target him as much as Deebo please.

Our coaches and Jimmy watch film so what the hell is the hold up. This guy is a WR1 and can easily be a top 10 or top 15 receiver if given the targets or a more accurate qb. He would've had another 50+ yard touchdown if Jimmy would not have underthrown him

This is the main gripe I have. Week after week we see guys like Aiyuk wide open all the time. I know Jimmy can't throw deep, but he can certainly hit that route. I mean Kyle, Jimmy, and everyone else must see it in film study. Like "Ah damn sorry Brandon missed you again there." It's gotta be frustrating for BA

With all the in-breaking slants and digs that the 49ers run, that whip route is a nice change up once CBs start overplaying. Running it from the slot allowed Aiyuk to have all that room along the sideline for YAC. That was a nice play.

Yeah I'm hoping we start passing to Aiyuk more everyone sees it on film it's up to Jimmy to pull the trigger. It may take more double teams away from Deebo as well and open up the offense.
jimmy g will trust aiyuk more from now on!

speak it into existence!

Essentially, 12 targets in the last game. I would say Jimmy does trust Aiyuk. But the connection will continue to get better as the season goes on.

Maybe and that's a big maybe with Kittle and Deebo. Again, this guy is beating ALL PRO cornerbacks like it's nothing. Even Deebo isn't doing that.

Seems like Deebo only beats cornerbacks when hes a running back.

Yessir BA balled out he had the best camp of anybody. He is a #1 imo. As usual we are not really embracing any sort of forward pass game. We rank 27th in pass attempts. So targets and volume will be issues in terms of him really taking flight. For a run first offense.. all our talent is stacked at WR / TE... our payroll as well.

I am worried that he will want to leave in two years because he's not getting many targets and he knows he's a great receiver. However, since Trey Lance supposedly has a very good relationship with him and is willing to pass to him all the time that will get him stay with the team because he will be getting so many more targets and his production will be way up. We need to keep two receivers on this team going forward to keep up with teams like the bills and the Chiefs.
This team should have a min of 8 targets each game to each of Deebo, Kittle and Aiyuk... And the target with the best matchup should get more...

Ppl wonder what's up with the run game? Start peppering our big 3 consistently with targets and watch how defenses back off from the run stacking...
