We have Deebo, Kittle, and MCM. Aiyuk is good, but he still needs to be better in making tough catches to be a star player. I don't think we need to force him the ball with the other weapons available.
I don't think Deebo is noticeably better on tough catches or catches in general. He's an animal and playmaker but drops the ball quite a bit more than we'd like.
Deebo was already an all pro offensive weapon last season without being that good on tough catches. Aiyuk is simply not as versatile and not as threatening to the defense when he touches the ball.
Agreed to disagree there because I think Aiyuk has a significant edge on Deebo with route running.

Aiyuk no question is the better WR, Deebo just is capable of doing every thing tho. But pure WR position edge easily Aiyuk

He is and it's crazy how we miss him. I swear this team doesn't run offense.

If Aiyuk keeps on his last 3 week pace, he will have over 1,200 yards receiving and 13 TD's. If he continues to average what he has over the first 8 games, he will still have over 1,000 yards and 9 TD's this season.

So you think Aiyuk deserved the same or better contract Deebo got???

This is how I see Deebo. Get him the ball and let him be great. We need Aiyuk to be more of them reliable receiver. He won't get as many opportunities so he has to make the most of what he gets.

Aiyuk is open so many times, especially outside deep and Jimmy ignores him. Everyone knows it.
He has gotten better every year and I think is an easy candidate for 5th year option and a contact after.

Id definitely keep and extend him now. He will absolutely feast with Trey.

He leads the Niner receivers in every category this year. Receptions, catch percentage, TDs, yards, yards per catch. He's having a breakout year. He's a better pure receiver than Deebo but Deebo is so good after the catch that he's probably a better player.

I still don't know if Aiyuk is a true #1 WR but I do believe he is a very good player that would reach new heights in a more pass friendly offense. Really like his game and he is a better pure WR than Deebo but they make a great tandem. I agree with BA's recent comments. This offense should be able to score 30 a game with the skill players on the roster. Hope they incorporate Danny Gray too for a downfield element.

I think Aiyuk is clearly a #1 receiver. Such a good route runner, great hands, great speed, and his YAC is awesome too. In a heavier passing offense this dude is a top 10 receiver in the league.

Why would Aiyuk stay here? His agent will definitely be in his ear about how he is losing money here and could become one of the highest-paid WRs in the NFL on a team with a pass-centric offense and a good QB.
I'd be surprised if Aiyuk resigns here when his time is up.

I don't think he is a number 1 reciever yet. He may get there, but I don't think any teams will make him one of the highest paid WR in the NFL currently.
At the moment, I just don't see him being someone so scary to defensive coordinators that you have to bracket him or pay extra attention to.

Of course, no team is going to make him one of the highest-paid receivers after his time with the 49ers. That's the point of my post. He'd being held back here, and I fully expect him to bank on himself and leave for a team where he can prove himself and turn that into a massive deal.
It's pretty damn obvious Aiyuk is not happy here. He'll never get the opportunity to truly prove what he can do here. This offense will never be the Chiefs or Bills. That's just not Shanahan.
