Wow, I didn't realize BA will only turn 25 years old this year. Dude is a young, ascending player, and most importantly, has been durable. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes another step forward next year and starts getting mentioned amongst the elite WRs in the NFL.

IMO, he'll ask to get paid more than Deebo, but that may end up being bargain in the future with BA's upward trajectory.

I don't think his numbers will back that up. But if he puts in a 1400 yard plus season, all bets are off.
I think we will extend him next offseason.

Deebo will be a FA after 2025, so Paraag can work out a nice contract for BA.

Agreed and short of Deebo having another All-Pro season, I can't see another contract that big. I still blame Baalke for starting all of this (with the Christian Kirk contract).

In fairness, Kirk has lived up to that contact so far. Had a solid year with the Jags.

Ya Deebo will need to have another big year to get that type of money and show that he can stay healthy.

But if he does do those things, I doubt we will be able to afford to give him an extension.

I might be, unaware of what the market looks like for guys outside of the top tier, but 20 million for 1100 yards? That means a guy should be able to demand 15 million for putting up 800 yards.

I mean there's a good difference between 1100 and 800. Players don't get paid an equal rate for yards produced. Each of player is viewed differently.

Kirk showed that he can be a #1. Even though BA only had just over 1k yards, it doesn't mean some teams won't look at him at a potential solid #1 as well and pay 20+ mil, I'm sure we view him as that too now. Who the QB is matters too. I bet if you put Kirk/BA on the Packers for example their numbers would've been much better.

It really depends on the system and what they are asking from their receivers. The Niners spread the ball around a lot and probably throw to the tight end more than some teams. That takes plays away from the WRs.

I hate to see any players walk, but I'd rather it was a WR than a quality O lineman or D lineman. WRs are fairly easy to find compared to good linemen.
BA has become Purdy's favorite receiver, his first read before he looks for Debo, Kittle and McCaffrey. They developed a relationship that is essential to a team's winning culture like Montana and Rice. I think the Niners should keep BA to make Purdy more efficient and more successful.
Aiyuk on his socials telling the eagles how it was and hopes the Chiefs expose their defense how they would've done had Purdy not been injured. He not holding back on the eagles lol..

This. He needs to start coming down with the tough catches before I consider him a true WR1

There is a big difference but you cannot deny- the market has changed. 20 million would get you a really good pass rusher. I'm curious to see what Brian Burns and guys of that tier get. Just seems like a lot for a receiver that is good, but not great. Again, maybe I'm just unaware of what guys at that level are getting.

Even Eagles fans know they were handed a freebie.
