I think we will extend him next offseason.
Deebo will be a FA after 2025, so Paraag can work out a nice contract for BA.
Agreed and short of Deebo having another All-Pro season, I can't see another contract that big. I still blame Baalke for starting all of this (with the Christian Kirk contract).
In fairness, Kirk has lived up to that contact so far. Had a solid year with the Jags.
Ya Deebo will need to have another big year to get that type of money and show that he can stay healthy.
But if he does do those things, I doubt we will be able to afford to give him an extension.
I might be, unaware of what the market looks like for guys outside of the top tier, but 20 million for 1100 yards? That means a guy should be able to demand 15 million for putting up 800 yards.
It really depends on the system and what they are asking from their receivers. The Niners spread the ball around a lot and probably throw to the tight end more than some teams. That takes plays away from the WRs.
I hate to see any players walk, but I'd rather it was a WR than a quality O lineman or D lineman. WRs are fairly easy to find compared to good linemen.
If BA had as many targets as Justin Jefferson, BA would have had around 1,640 receiving yards. BA ended the season with the same number of receiving TD's as Jefferson with 70 less targets. Plus 49ers have the best run blocking receivers in the league. Most teams don't value outside blocking as much as Shanahan does.
