I'm fascinated to see how our drafts go in the next few years. It was kind of crazy that we were already an elite defense, and then all of a sudden, Hufanga, a 5th rounder, burst out last year and voted as an All-Pro in his second year.

If Brock is as good as people think he is the window will always be open aslong as Kyle is here and Brock is in his prime. The Chiefs window has remained open because of Mahomes and Reid.

I have confidence that, over the years, Shanahan/Lynch can find skill position players in the draft... Eventually we'll have cap casualties over the years. Assuming Aiyuk re-signs, Juice and Kittle will be the first dominos we lose... then CMC/Deebo somewhere along the line. We'll need to continue re-stocking the cupboard over the course of Brock's career.

Only thing that the Pro Bowl would do is increase what we need to pay him next year. IDGAF about a flag football game that all of our guys will be too busy to play in anyway.

For real. The 49ers had to extend the following players in the same offseason that they were named 1st Team All Pro: Kittle, Warner, Deebo. Bosa won DPotY then had to be extended. As if these guys needed more leverage at the negotiation table. Let me guess, Brock is going to win league MVP in the same offseason he is up for an extension. Pro Bowl is probably the least meaningful 'award', but it's still ammo for the sports agent.

Lol, this. I'm unsure why so many seemingly knowledgeable people parrot this line. Like, yeah it's not my money, but I care about responsible use of the limited pool of money available to build the team I root for.
