#1 No you cant

#2 It's more complicated than that. If they cut Armstead his dead money accelerates. We won't clear his cap this season. If he goes you take the hit now to clear it for 2025.

He obviously has no idea how the cap works

He's definitely more of a #1 than Deebo. Deebo is a RB than runs routes. Aiyuk may not be a JJ or AJ Brown tier WR1 but he's still a damn good WR1 in this league and for this team. I'll take that all day over Deevah.

I love Deebo for what he did in the past for us, but I'm ok with moving on if needed.

His inability to be a factor in the super bowl will linger a long time for me. I see Deebo as a wonderful luxury to have, but he can't be worth it and let's not forget we almost traded him before.

If we're gonna pay someone big money at WR he better be dominant at route running.

He's gonna want Deebo money since he's better than Deebo and we won't pay it. There's no way they're both here. One of them will be traded away if it comes to that and they can roll the dice on JJ. People always talk about him being slow but his slow ass is always open when he needs to be and he's bigger than Deebo and Aiyuk. That's the dude they should lock in and then find a speedster with some height in the draft or kick the tires on that murderer who just got out of prison if he's still fast lol

Jennings wows me.

He can't be the cornerstone of your offense but he sure as f**k is a valuable piece that makes things happen. If you woulda told me before kick off we would win and he'd been MVP I wouldn't have believed it...

He could've been.

After the KC game I just don't see him as an elite WR that's in the same class as Jefferson, Chase, and a few others. Their CBs punked Deebo and BA. He's still very good but we shouldn't pay him top WR money.

I guess you could say that he's definitely not top five or six, but he did punk KC's awesome corner for the touchdown in overtime. It's not his fault that Chris Jones had a free rush to Purdy. Give him close to 22-25 a year. Well worth it for Purdy and the offense.
Is it his fault that he slowed down on what should've been an easy TD earlier in the game?
I think the wr position has gotten a bit crazy salary wise tbh. It's become easier to find productive players via the draft and they are developing much faster.

You can always get production, but showing up in the big moments is rare. I'm hoping for a philosophy shift in drafting and playcalling.

Armstead is absolutely a possible cap casualty with a post-june 1 designation

How ? He has a 26 million dead cap hit for 2024

AA's contract was god awful.

Should have kept Buck and we may be hoisting multiple trophies.

The contract wasnt good, but the dead cap numbers right now are a result of restructure they just did before this season. They had an out on him if they cut him after this season, now after the restructure they don't.

Believe it's only $10M in 2024 if he's a post June 1 designation (the rest gets pushed into 2025). This is a net savings in 2024 of $18M. Not saying this is the best solution but its not impossible. Restructure is more likely.

Ya pretty much
Unlike Deebo, Aiyuk is someone you can build around for Purdy's skillset

Unless Buck plays OG, we would not. A more dominant Dline with Buck didn't get it done. AA got paid less and his contract was restructured, which us why the cap hit is so big.
