I bet they run it back for one more run with this same group. Now if he duplicates his production next year they may make the hard move on Deebo.

The problem with this as I see it is I highly doubt he plays on just 5th year option. If so, he'll likely site out of camp/games then we won't get the best BA.

Players tend to struggle if the hold out. Players tend to hold out if they don't get paid.

The problem is over manipulation. Too much and you end up like the saints, not what i want going into Purdy's contract.

He is fined for not showing up,
Does this guy still want out to get #1 $ and be a #1 on a pass centric offense?

It's not a problem because they haven't done anything even remotely close to what the Saints did. Plus literally all of the guys who were adjusted are still producing. And, additionally, Aiyuk's cap number for 2024 will go DOWN with an extension.

They haven't. Yet. But in 4 years, when Deebo, AA, JH, Kittle, Ward, and any others are still taking up cap space but not on the team.
Then the new all pro DB, LB, WR, DL, OL is looking at their extension. Do you let them walk or kick the can?

It is why, even though it did not work out, i was a fan of the AA-Buckner decision.
I am not saying no to Aiyuk by the way. I am just saying going past this upcoming season, the decision has to be made.

What burns you is the failure to draft equal or better players when those contracts begin to balloon. If we nail this draft and more guys from 2022-2023 producer, we'll continue to be a top 5 team. If we blow it, we will continue to compete until the bottom falls out around 2026.

Same. I'd argue it did work out in terms of the number of players we kept (Ward and AA), got the extra pick that led to Aiyuk and remained a top 4 team. We take Justin Jefferson, Lamb, Jackson, etc and it's a completely different conversation.

Yep all the stuff around it is why i was/am in agreement with trading players, especially to a place they would like to go.

If they trade Aiyuk, Deebo, Kittle, Jennings, Hufanga, and/or Ward, etc i will not be mad(sad yes). A decision has to be made, and a year early to maximize return is necessary to compete in 3 years. If Purdy is as good as he has looked, it is important to keep the next 10 years as open as possible.

If a team feels pairing Aiyuk or Deebo with their offense is the key and willing to trade that 12-25 pick value, i feel it may be worth it. Maybe go out and get a vet in FA to fill the gap a bit. Maybe Bourne, marquise Brown, gabe davis, curtis Samuel, Boyd, ora any number of the solid available ones.

I love Jennings, but if Baltimore wants to offer #62 for him, unless 49ers and him have an extension nearly done, he is gone.

Now not all three, but 2.... i might have to say yes. If it is Aiyuk(Colts#15) and Jennings(Mia#55), they can target Evans in FA and have two 1s, 2s, 3s and in prime spots to get a top corner and WR say Wiggins and Ladd.

I love the idea of Curtis Samuel. I do unfortunately feel Aiyuk will be traded. My prediction is to Buffalo for #28.

If we do trade Aiyuk I think it's a must to keep Jennings assuming we're at a reasonable price. Which hopefully is 10 or less

If Aiyuk was the #1 WR target for Purdy in the SB ... I think we easily win . Dude was creating lots of separation

He looked covered like a blanket when #22 was on him. Especially on the Baldy breakdowns.
