Aiyuk is the perfect replacement for Sanders.

Yea ill clarify. When i say "catch up to him" i mean making up ground. On long balls they run out of real estate. Which is fine. But i dont get the sense hes pulling away. You know like ruggs. On the long return against usc he does get tackled. But if hes nursing a groin thats fine.
Hes fast enough to be rffective at the next level. Lots of great breaks and sells on his routes. Great turning adjustments with ball in the air. Which he will need with jimmy g. But he needs to put on muscle or he will get blown up. My 2c.

How dare he! Did he at least get permission from Quinton Patton?
No. Ty Detmer gave him permission
Well that's all that matters then really...

If you look at his highlights, guys catch up to him. But that might be the reason for the core surgery right there.
I'm missing something? I didn't see many highlights of him getting caught from behind.

It's not the he gets caught from behind, its just that he is not a 4.3 burner making everyone else on the field look like they have lead in their shoes. Or on big plays, he isnt leaving people out of the camera frame. Aiyuk has a real suddenness and separates very quickly. His first 10 yards is elite. Again, 93rd percentile on his 10 yard split in the combine. That's and the cone are more important to me than the 40. He has enough speed to take it to the house. I'm not trying to criticize him. 4.5 is plenty of speed. I think he runs under that when completely healthy. I'm just saying that his top end speed is not elite.
CBS has a good report on WR game speed versus combine results. Aiyuks highest in game speed last year was 19.55mph, which is 5th fastest in this draft class. Jalen Reagor was 20.8mph. Ruggs at 21.94 mph. Higgins 19.46mph. Calypool 18.77mph. Jefferson 18.44mph. Again, very good speed, but not elite. Deebo has been clocked in the 20s.

I gotcha...there was a reason I was all about Ruggs and that's cuz his speed is elite level. Aiyuk isn't a burner but he's good enough to make big plays, especially with Kyle's scheming. Good enough to threaten all areas of the field but maybe not fast enough to scare defenses into specific coverage with just his presence on the field like Ruggs would.
Then again if he keeps growing as a player he'll show enough over the top to do that similar to OBJ.

Great breakdown of Aiyuk's game from Dan. A must watch for Niner fans.

Anyway I can see why kyle is excited and also why he was wr7 wr8 on many boards. If hes gonna play the slot more than 20% he better start looking like edelman or he will get hurt pretty fast.
Silly and simply not true.

Likely hand timed, so 4.4 is probably right. Regardless of timed speeds, his tape shows he has good game speed.

You don't see him absolutely destroying guys in a free run to the goal line. Seen a few times where guys were close to catching him or at least staying with him. But he has a quick burst that gets him by people from the get go, and he is fast enough not to be able to catch.
Yep

Whats the silly part of he needs to get stronger to survive slot assignment?

Numerous receivers with similar or smaller builds who play the slot and have played the slot prove that it's not an accurate statement. One can be of a smaller stature, play the slot and not be an injury waiting to happen.

Lynch was on Cowherd. Said his core muscle injury caused a misleading 40 time. He ran a 4.5, but he's really a 4.3
