Also the whole can't pay two WRs thing is a shame…Philly just did it AND is paying their QB $250M (among others).

You can do anything you want with two or three players. Doesn't change the reality that you can't pay everybody top dollar.

I think we keep Aiyuk and Deebo this year, draft a WR this year to groom to replace Deebo down the road, and then trade Deebo next year saving $17m. Ultimately, to pay a number of stars, you must continuously convert some of those contracts to rookie contracts. If you are a talented team, you don't trade Deebo, or for that matter Aiyuk, for another veteran. IF you trade them, you do so for draft picks. Aiyuk is the younger and healthier of the two, and our Only WR that excels when the defense swithces to man coverage when they discover they can't get in Brock's head with zone. It would be nice to have two of those guys, because Brock is not going to become stupid.
So the talking hot airheads had all that to say about Aiyuk, but it's Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb that are the no shows.

He wants to be here, and anything more he could get elsewhere over what we are willing to pay would be insignificant.

For sure. Both Deebo and Bosa sat out and were sub par the following season. Deebo showed to TC overweight and Bosa just never showed up all year.

Disagree with that

Not as the highest paid non QB defensive player of the year that's for sure. In that context he was a no show. Very disappointing season for him.

They don't save $17M only if they cut/trade Deebo after June 1, by then the players will be signed by then, the team isn't trading or cutting Deebo next year, makes no sense, the team can afford to keep both BA & Deebo, plus pay Brock, Mooney, & even keep Greenlaw, but guys like Banks, Hufanga, Jauan, & Lenoir are goners IMO, and the reason the 49ers can keep Deebo, BA, Brock, Mooney, and even Dre is the fact the 49ers will carryover the $18M from Armstead's release, plus they'll save around $7M by extending Aiyuk.

The reason why I say the team will lose Banks, Hufanga, Jauan, & Lenoir, is because the team isn't paying Banks $10M+ a yr, nor giving Hufanga top Safety money, can't pay Jauan plus Deebo & BA, plus Jauan will get $10M-$15M a yr, and as for Lenoir, don't see them being able to keep him & Mooney, Ward is an All-Pro, Lenoir is good, but not a game changer like Mooney is IMO.

If we won't pay an interior OL $10m a year, and I'm not saying we should, should we really be drafting them as high as the second round? It seems the Shanahan philosophy is to not put a lot of resources into the interior, since success or failure is more dependent on teamwork and intelligence, and perhaps being able to get talent by emphasizing athleticism over brute power which may be available later and cheaper while others go the other way. If that's the case, maybe we should quit complaining about it and just watch the FO's efforts to improve the performance on the cheap, and eliminate headwork mistakes.

It's following it pretty closely.

Why not just go the Bosa route? It obviously worked w/the contract he got and he didn't play all these girly drama games.

Bosa sat out 2 months and has issues early bc of it. Much prefer the "girly" drama if it means he doesn't hold out like bosa did

Well Deebo did the girly drama too and showed up out of shape.
