Have you come up for a name for him yet?

Yeah I thought no mention of Ruggs was odd. Either they simply didn't like him as much or with him going off the board before our pick maybe they wanted to hide the fact that they liked him.

Deebo, Aiyuk...they're a certain type of WR that lots of people identify as Kyle's scheme guys. Maybe he's changed his process and doesn't see as big a need for the big speed guy but I felt very strongly Ruggs was definitely in play.

No way to know now. To me it's like poker. Sometimes you show your hand, other times you don't. There is gameplay involved with each decision. We obviously drafted Aiyuk. Saying Lamb was #2 just behind him shows we're looking at the YAC guys without specifically being the burner types.

Had Kyle said "we had Ruggs #1 or even #2/3" it shows that Ruggs was on our radar. Moving forward if we want a speed WR we've shown that maybe those aren't the type of WRs he'll rank as high as the Deebo, Aiyuk, Lamb types.

We'll see what happens moving forward. Hopefully we don't actually have to look at WR early in the draft for a long time.
I feel like Kyle had
1a Ruggs
1b Lamb
1c Aiyuk

No, I think if Lamb was high on their board, they would have taken him instead of Kinlaw.

They thought the difference was minimal and that Kinlaw was to good to pass on
I'm happy

Simms said that Kyle was laser focus on Aiyuk before the draft to the point that Chris couldn´t put him in his mock draft.
Kyle even asked him about taking Aiyuk at 13.
But that doesn´t mean Kyle didn´t want Ruggs.
I mean, maybe Kyle didn´t think Ruggs would be there at 13. That´s what he thought about Kinlaw.
When you see Ruggs play, I have a hard time thinking he doesn´t fit this offense. He´s excellent on slant and yac also.

Only Chris Simms DID put Ruggs in his final Mock Draft going to the 9ers at pick #20.

Yeah that´s my point. He knew it was gonna be Aiyuk but he couldn´t put him there because he didn´t want to screw his buddy.
That´s what Chris said.
Imagine if he put Aiyuk. Nobody thought the niners had him on their radar and Chris is Kyle best friend.
That would be suspicious right?
So he tried to hide that with Tua falling in the draft at 13 and Ruggs falling at 20.
But like I said, that doesn´t mean that Kyle didn´t like Ruggs. All we know is that he had Lamb and Aiyuk at top of his board.

So from now on as the draft approaches we need to pay attention to Simms' mock draft and whatever position he has us taking it may not be the player to screw Kyle over but it's gonna be someone who plays the position. Next year I don't see how they don't take a cb in the 1st tho

Yeah, next year will be CB in the 1st round for sure.
