This all started when someone claimed that Aiyuk would have caught the throw from Jimmy in the Superbowl that went over Emmanuel's head. You are right though. Moving on.....

I agree. Give Aiyuk and Jimmy one whole year of working and having in-game regular season reps *together* and with Aiyuks speed -- that would have been a TD vs an overthrow in my opinion.

Its a silly thing to say because the ball wouldn't have been thrown the same with a different WR.

Yeah, I think Aiyuk runs through that pass. Sanders stopped on the route for a quick second, then started up again. But, it was too late - the ball was over his head already.

I don't see where he stops

Damn, should have been an easy TD. Jimmy likely cost us #6.

Jimmy should have waited 5 more yards to throw the ball.

Againts Saints (75-yd TD) and Rams (46-yd rec) Jimmy waited 20 yards to throw it but in the Super Bowl he only waited 15 yards and that was the difference at the end of the route.

not easy at all. Cosell broke this down post SB. Said it was a throw that could have been made, but by no means was it an easy throw and it would have had to have been perfect.
27 never locates the ball. If Jimmy just puts it in reach it's PI at the very least

Screw that, make Pettis do returns, he might actually benefit from it. This kid needs to be one of the starting receivers. I hope he is smart enough to pick up the nuances quickly. The kid doesn't need to increase his chance of injury by playing on special teams.

I think Pettis should be our punt returner, after all why not have the leading punt returner in the history of college football return punts right?

Because like the tin man, he needs to go see the wizard. Dude has shown no heart on the football field. Returning punts in the NFL is not for the faint at heart.

Hopefully he gets his mind right.

Pettis as a punt returner? Ugh....

There still would have been about 1:30 left in the game and Niners only up by 3 and the Chiefs having all their timeouts I believe. Chiefs had just scored touchdowns on consecutive drives. And they scored another TD on the drive after this missed pass by Jimmy. Niners needed to score a TD on this drive and leave no time on the clock.

Plus if he had caught it, they'd probably call some bogus holding call or OPI or something. Or ensure Mahomes scores the winning TD on the next possession.

This. Despite all the capital spent on the defense, they gave up 21 points in 5 minutes. KC might have scored twice with 1:30. LOL

With the comparison of capital spent on offense, they more than did their job for 3.5 quarters and were up 10.

Defense needed to do what it was paid to do...make one single stop. Kyle's seen this dance before.

So uh good to hear Brandon has healed from his surgery. Back to discussing the Super Bowl that he had no part in
How could anyone say that was an easy throw? Yes I've seen it completed many times over the years but to say it was easy is crazy. If it was an easy throw then teams would try it more often. The fact is any throw that far downfield has a very low completion percentage.

A lot of things cost a SB victory, not just one play

this

giving up 21 points in the 4th sure didn't help
