Staley seems like the type of guy willing to switch positions to help out the team. We'll see what happens. But very good trade! We essentially got Kinlaw, Aiyuk and Williams in this trade I freaking love it

Is there a position less daunting that Staley might benefit from?

McGlinchey was awful the last time he took over at guard.

If staley comes back we can move glinchy to guard in thinking

Prob better to move Staley to LG and Tomlinson to RG than moving McGlinchey.

1. Staley has only two years left, maximum. Easier to move a guy that won't be around much longer. McGlinchey would have to move to G, then move back to T in 2 years.

2. Staley's physique is more suited to being a Zone Blocking G than McGlinchey's is.

3. Staley's knowledge of the game is superior to McGlinchey's, which would make the transition easier for him.
Did we swap 5ths with Washington or just give them our 5th?
Can you imagine if Staley moves to RG, that would be one heck of an upgrade plus Trent williams.

I'm thinking

Lt William's
Rt staley

Yea but mcg would suck at guard. Joe is the only guy with twinkletoes on the line who can do the foot work iol have to do. Oh wow that would be a solution.

Tunsil was traded for two first rounders. Williams is a better player. This is an unreal trade.
Staley really needs to stick for 1 more year, this team is close. It would be bitter sweet if he retired and we win it
I mean Joe is probably retiring people need to realize this.

So Niners gave up a 5 this year and 3 next year. If he leaves, best case they get a 3 next year. So basically niners give up a 5 this year for Trent Williams. Wow.

The comp pick would be in 2022, but yes a 3rd is best case scenario. I think they'll work out a new deal, he knows Kyle, and this seems like a perfect fit, love it.

AB! You have probably already posted this info but can we fit him and Staley if some interesting line jumbling is in the works?

Edit" basically asking if this guarantees Staley is gone

Hahaha what an amazing trade!! Stupid skins

I am stunned that Staley is retiring. It's an assumption that he waited to inform the organization, but it certainly seems like the most likely scenario right now. Wow.
We're not rebuilding. We're in our SB window. This is the future. Mortgage the f**k out of it.
