Plus they have Bosa coming back from a serious knee injury and the other pass rusher unable to play and likely to be gone. Shortest dynasty in history.

Shorter than Seattle's 1 in a row dynasty.

Christ I can't stand this place sometimes, so much pessimism, the team had 1 good year, so they had a bad 2020 compared to 2019, people are acting like the 49ers are the only team with salary cap issues, when most of the NFL will have issues with the cap, after all the cap is going down by as much as $40M.

This a niner board AB of course it seems like ppl only care about the Niners cap situation. Our front office made several mistakes. That doesn't mean other teams didn't mistakes either. We just don't care as much. Ppl are just frustrated b/c we can clearly see guys that we won't be able to afford while paying guys who aren't contributing

My issue is with people who act like Lynch messed up the cap when that's not even close to the case, no one saw a pandemic coming back in 2018 and 2019 when teams were giving out crazy money to players, even in March this year teams still gave out a good amount of money, not Lynch's fault injuries happened to the likes of Jimmy, Dee, and Richburg. And this whole they were injury prone crap is just that crap and bs, every player goes through some sorta injury during their careers. Prior to coming here Dee and Richburg weren't injury prone IMO, and the deals they got were good deals at the time, but it happens, people act like Lynch should be near perfect, they complain about the draft misses, yet no GM hits on anywhere near what fans expect or want them to. If you nail 35% of your picks then that's a good number, since most kids drafted don't make it to a 2nd deal, ,let along through their rookie deal.

Add the fact that this team has a good shot at 8-8 if not more with an absurd amount of injuries. A team lacking talent couldn't do that.

Yeah, it's the main reason I don't post much. I am really just interested in talking about the team in a constructive way. I don't get all bent out of shape because some draft pick or FA doesn't work out. Don't have a bone to pick about any particular player that requires me to post obsessively about their perceived faults. And I don't think John Lynch is doing a bad job. Injuries have devastated the team but they have once again found a way to stay somewhat competitive which speaks to the depth of their roster and the strengths of their coaches. But all a lot of people ever want to do is come in here and complain about some damn thing or another or go on and on about some player they didn't get. It's all pretty tiresome

I prefer to look at it is we're taking the SF Giants path to Championships.

We better re-sign Williams, we gave up a lot to get him.

Eh, I don't call a 3rd and 5th a lot for a top 5 LT.

Maybe, I exaggerating a little bit, but we did give up assets to get him.

Slight gamble, though - he hadn't played in a year an a half.

Yeah but you have to give up something in order to get a player of his caliber, whether it's picks, money or both, it happens, part of the business.
Oh, and we did give up a 3rd and 4th for Sanders, and a 5th, but unlike Sanders who didn't want to come back due to us not passing enough, I think it's clear that Trent wants to be back, he was drafted by Mike Shanahan while Kyle was the OC, and he loves the system, so I'm 100% confident they re-sign Trent.

I hope so - otherwise we are forced to go OT in the draft.
