1.3% blown block rate. 12 blown blocks on the year, 5 were in one game vs Miami. Terron Armistead was 1.6% and Wyatt Teller was 1.8%. Man, he was truly awesome this season.

If he walks and we use our top pick to replace him we are screwed.

Why would we be screwed?
I find it hard to believe Lynch/Shanny would have brought him in if they didnt have legit plans to resign him. The slight of hand they had to go through last year with him and Staley was next level.

I would be really surprised if he is not a niner next year.

Yeah, we'd save money if he walks and we'd be able to re-sign some of our guys.

I would be surprised, too. The only way he isn't a Niner is if he asking for more than $30M+/per year.

Zero chance he's expecting 30+ per

even if he stays,. we still should use our first round pick on the best center guard in the draft in my opinion

Going off of historical trends I'd imagine we sign a veteran Center.

thats fine.. still need a good old big ten guard in the draft...... we just can not go into next year with the same o line that we had this year

I don't know. This team have used more draft capital to bring in Sanders and they let him kick rocks...

I also hope we can keep Williams, but don't want to lock into a long term deal that we can't get out of for many years. When players like Bosa need to be signed in a few years, we NEED to resign players like that.....even more then overpaying for Williams.

That will be a problem because Williams won´t want a short-term deal and he´ll ask 20M per year.

If we let Williams walk the reality is that we don´t have a plan for his replacement and that means the O-line will get even worse.

The way I see it is that we can sign Williams to a long term deal and give him just around 5 or 6 millions this year with 2022 and 2023 almost fully guaranteed. Not ideal because we´re talking about 55M the next 2 years in one player but as I said, we can´t let him go or our starting QB will get killed.

I can remember some guys here saying at the beginning of the season that Williams was gonna give us a discount because he said he loves playing for Shanny

I have no issue giving Trent a 5yr deal worth $20M a yr, with $40M GTD. They can't let him walk, I don't see him pitting other teams vs the 49ers, if the cap is only $175M, not many teams will be able to offer him a giant deal, he said winning was important, so going to a rebuild like the Jags, cause they have $74M makes no sense, when they'll have a rookie QB, and new coach, and of course a rebuild.

He chose NO over us and DAL, cause we ran more than we threw, we offered him a similar deal to what he got from NO.
Oh we already talking contract with him. We will get a extension done. 1 down 4 to go

I wonder if California and their strict Covid rules will turn some players off. The fact that Kyle had to address it tells me maybe that is a playing card on these FA's minds.
