He had a very good season other than 2 games early on where he had some issues.
Make the cuts June 1 of next year, You will get the other 10 million

2022?

From now until june 1 of this year, we will only get 10mil. after that space/savings decreases
Ok, A June 1 cut of next year spreads half the dead money into 2022. You can make the release next spring spread half the dead money in year 2021 the other half in 2022. Hence, a 20 million savings next year.

I need some more break down.. not following how keeping him in 2021 is saving us money for 2021?
It almost doesn't make sense to try and figure out who we can sign and who has to go. I'm not sure they have finalized what the cap will be yet. With all the guys they have there are bound to be huge changes in what some will get paid next year and how much gets pushed out so cap space numbers can change every week.

With a post June 1st cut, SF can't touch that money...it basically doesn't help SF in 2021 for FA because most moves are made way before June 1st.

Now they could use that to give Warner an extension, he doesn't need a new contract in March (still under contract).

AB said restructuring Jimmy would make his cap hit $16M this yr....however his cap hit in 2022 goes up into the high $30M mark (possibly even $40M) I believe. That most certainly doesn't help with signing players who are gonna get more than a one yr deal.

Yeah sorry Mayo but he was the top OT so therefore he should be compensated accordingly.

so cutting Rich and Ford before june would save us the most cash which is 10mill from looking at the cap sites or am i still missing something

Whats odd about a top OT seeking top OT money? Williams is the type of player that you pay and bring back, no ifs, ands or buts.
Ok my friend, You sound like a good guy.

If Ford and Richburg are cut let's say now and they gave a guaranteed money hit of 20 million it all counts against the 2021 cap. If you designate by I think April 10th of next year a June 1at cut half of the 20 is applied to 2021. The other half is applied to 2022. They use to have to cut after June1 to apply it the following year.

They changed the rules a few years back where you can designate a June 1 cut by I think , could be wrong on April 10. Hence, Spread the dead money over 2 years. Hope this helps.
I wouldn't waste 18 million a year on Trent. Save the money for other players. Dude is good but old. Draft a top tier LT with the 12th pick, sign Hyder to a nice, but reasonable deal to play opposite Bosa and use extra cash to complete the team with players that love the Niners, like Warner.

I believe in Kyles ability to scheme the Oline. This isn't Singletary or even Harbaugh's offense. It's not based on pure physical domination. We don't need hogs, we need athletes. Trust me, we don't need to spend all that money on Trent.

There isn't a top-tier LT in the draft that will be available at 12. Nobody in the draft can replace Trent Williams. But it's okay, right, guys? We still have Mike Mcglinchey. Let's just let Trent Williams leave and we can start McGlinchey and Skule.

No top tier OT in the draft? What kind of statement is that? There is talent everywhere in the first and second. It just has to be scouted. Staley was a late first converted TE. How did that workout?

Also, the line is a unit. It doesn't matter if we put a 20 foot steel wall on the left side of the QB if he can be sacked from the middle or the right. No matter how good you LT is, QBs only have so much time to throw. Paying a huge priemum for a guy that is only part of a great whole is stupid.

We don't need a HOF tackle, just a starting caliber one. I would rather use Trents money to sure up the over all quality of the line.

Btw, McGlitch will be fine. He was good for a couple years and took a step back. He'll adjust. I would extend him while his value is low.

Buy low, sell high. Just like the stock market. Never over pay in free agency. It usually doesn't work.

Also, no need for the face palming and eye rolling. Get over yourself. My opinion is not ludicrous, even if you disagree.
