I believe in Kyles ability to scheme the Oline. This isn't Singletary or even Harbaugh's offense. It's not based on pure physical domination. We don't need hogs, we need athletes. Trust me, we don't need to spend all that money on Trent.

There isn't a top-tier LT in the draft that will be available at 12. Nobody in the draft can replace Trent Williams. But it's okay, right, guys? We still have Mike Mcglinchey. Let's just let Trent Williams leave and we can start McGlinchey and Skule.

Where in my post did I say don't upgrade the line? In fact, I said the exact opposite.

I honestly stopped reading your posted after you said "I wouldn't waste 18 million a year on Trent"

Well that explains your ignorance.

Even worse is the fact that $18m a year would be a steal for Trent Williams.

You got folks crying about how pathetic our oline was yet say nonsense like that letting a future HOF LT walk as if it's a guarantee one of his caliber is sitting in the draft

Right? I don't get some people on here.

Why wouldn't a top elite OT be asking for top money? Again how do you guys plan on winning without top tier talent?

They went to the George Halas/Gene Klein/Mike Brown school of player compensation.

If I read this correctly, your argument is to let Trent Williams leave so that we have enough cap space to retain Kerry Hyder? I'm kidding and know that's not exactly the point. I believe you need a few top 3 at the position type players to compete for Super Bowls. Trent is one of those and can not be lost

If kyle could have schemed the o line, then they wouldn't be 2nd in the league for qb hits. The o line sucks and has been sucking for a long time.

And then when it does happen, those same fans want people fired when when they do what they ask for. Miserable

Damn, the hyenas are feeding! Oakland-niner, I see what you're saying. And to some extent I agree.

With Trent, the line sucked so why pay a premium when the money could be used elsewhere.

Problem is, if we lose Trent the line will suck even worse. And at 18mil that's a decent price for him.

I think he will test the market and if a good team comes with significantly more money on the table, Trent is gone.

We didn't know Lynch had Trent in mind or that Staley was retiring suddenly. I'm sure Lynch has his plan b' and c's

Lynch's plans
Plan A : pay Trent a reasonable team friendly deal
Plan B : pay Trent his market value
Plan C : cry

I think plan A happened last week and Trent/Agent now wants to compare that to the market.

He won't take a little more money to go to a losing team. But I bet he will take more money from a contender. That or force the Niners to give him closer to market value(Plan B).

Plan C I think we all cry if he leaves and there isn't a decent replacement.
Thankfully he didn't make the all pro team, helps us out at least a little
