Wow, I totally missed this tweet. I'm guessing Paraag tried to lowball him and Trent told them to kick rocks. He wants that Bakhtiari money.
He going to want a big payday and at 33 yrs old I would say no. Too many other pending FA. We need balance on our OL. The fact that with him starting this year and our OL playing poorly says it all. Just because you have a stud LT does not mean you are set at the OL position.

I'd love to have him back - but, if he's asking for top Tackle money, it might just be too much give his age.

He's better than most of the tackles that are 10 years younger than he is and I'd imagine he still will be in 3 years.

Yeah, he should be good for the next five years. I just hope he's not asking to be the top payed Tackle.

Don't over pay on him. Who knows if he will comeback and play better. Yes he played better in spurts down the road after the Eagles game but in no way did he show he was an elite LT of years past.

Still saw a lot of issues down the stretch with him. I know he sat that year out and then covid hit so that fkd up any team unity and Also getting back into game shape.

We have so many holes and this guys is aging up. Are we going to overpay for him only to have the same performance again?? If so then no thank you

His value for his performance in 2020 alone is worth almost 20million APY.

If he is asking to be paid top of the line pay, then we've lost him. But his age and injury history should prevent a bottom feeder from offering him a top end offer. Also, he doesn't have a super bowl ring, so most bottom feeding teams can't offer him a shot at that. My worry is more of a team like us, with a similar record and super bowl potential -- offering more than the 49ers. We shall see.
I don't understand how they can not sign Williams. Protection for Jimmy is one of the main issues that's discussed on this forum and I'm sure the front office is aware of it too. How can you consider replacing your best O lineman with a rookie. How does that upgrade the O line. I know they may not be able to sign him and Jimmy but I can't see how Jimmy survives the season with a rookie at that position. It's kind of a catch-22

They might not have a choice but to draft a Tackle if they don't re-sign Williams. What are they going to do - sign a street FA and hope he holds up?
