Staley has to know that this year will be his best chance to win a SB. If he wants one he will move to guard or RT.

It's that the 49ers have an ELITE GM. WOW LOL. Only John Lynch could smooth things over between Snyder and Shanahan.
I never thought twice about TW coming to the 49ers because of this reason, Snyder having a grudge vs the Shanahans. I can't believe some other team out there couldn't offer more.
I'm sure they did but Williams wanted to come here. He can say he didn't but I don't believe it, especially when Vikings have 13 picks today

Tunsil was traded for two first rounders. Williams is a better player. This is an unreal trade.
Williams is kind of a dick. Getting into bar fights, suspended after testing multiple times for weed and assaulted Richard Sherman after a game. Not sure how well he meshes in the locker room or with the rest of the O-lineman.
Well TBH Sherm deserved it. Williams was making the point that Sherm wasn't going to talk stupid to him without suffering some consequence, and Sherm pushed the big man and learned that Williams was right.....but I hear yah on the other stuff.

No he said exactly that. He will NOT be playing anything but LT. He's gonna retire guys
Link??
Google it. He said it on a video this off season. Maybe he changes his mind but I highly doubt he moved inside at this pt in his career
All good, Williams is a major upgrade.
All decade T, but I hope Staley stays so that we have serious depth up front.
with that said, won't we get serious cap room if Staley retires? Or would that cap space be eaten up by Williams?

If we come out of this draft with Kinlaw, Aiyuk, Ford, and Williams then it's by far the best draft.

Can't speak on the bar fights and positive weed tests but did you forget about Sherm pre Niners. Pretty sure a bunch of us would have fought him too when he was a Hawk lol

Oh man. If this means we can shift Staley over to guard, the 49ers will have a monster of an offensive line this season.

This gets me hype, I'd kick Staley to the right side and bring big mike inside, he's better at run blocking anyway
McGlinchey was awful the last time he took over at guard.
Yup!!!
yeah i never want to see that again

Does new #49ers LT Trent Williams still have at it, at age 31 after sitting out an entire season?

Dude, if he leaves after next year we almost for sure get a 3rd round comp pick for him. And if he re ups with us we get a franchise left tackle for the next 5 years for a 3rd and a 5th, STEAL
Trent Williams and the 49ers are expected to restructure the last year on his contract, per source. But Williams will report and will play for SF this season.

He's not leaving he's gonna get a fat contract extension
That's not what I read from that tweet. Sounds like we're going to bump up his pay for this year only. Then he walks? Hope not?

AB! You have probably already posted this info but can we fit him and Staley if some interesting line jumbling is in the works?

This is good news, they'll likely lower his base, and guarantee it for 2020.

The comp pick would be in 2022, but yes a 3rd is best case scenario. I think they'll work out a new deal, he knows Kyle, and this seems like a perfect fit, love it.
Will the niners receive a 3rd rd comp in 2021 for losing Sanders in free agency?
Due to the $8M APY it's a 5th in 2021 for Sanders.
Thanks AB. So now we wait to see what Staley chooses to do. This is genuine drama!
