We may not want to over pay . His money could really grab us some players. For example Yannick from Baltimore great pass rusher and a solid OLineman. The LT from Pittsburgh could be had for a lot less than TW.

My gut feel he wants about 23-24 million per year. And 70 million plus in guarantees.

I would not figure more than 3 years of service and 60 million in gurantees, Max.

I would happily take the Comp pick and money for other players.

Villanueva can be had for cheaper and is nowhere near the player Williams is and also isn't all that and with our oline it'll be nice to have at least one guy whose good. Unless Williams is asking for something ridiculous when he's going into 33 he will be priority 1 and will be a 9er
23-24m is squarely in the ridiculous category and I wouldn't give a second thought to escorting from the building if that's the price. No offensive lineman is worth that much, period

Lol i wish. 3 years 62 mil is more likely

Then edit his position, make him a kicker, and sign him to a lucrative 7 year 20 million dollar contract. There are solutions out there if you are creative enough. Honestly, he is gone and we should look forward to getting a high comp pick for him. Jets, Jaguars, and Dolphins all have a ton of cap room, and a need. Hate to say it, but he gone.

However, I will stipulate that a TW signing boosts our chances for a Dashaun Watson signing.

There is no signing Watson. There is only trading for him and if rumors are true that price starts at 3 firsts, 3 seconds, and a player. Every team that has ever made a deal even remotely like that has ended up regretting it and that would dwarf any trade in history. Hard pass. Jimmy isn't the long term answer but neither is giving out future for Watson so he can turn SF I to Texans west, completely devoid of talent around him.

I think we're just best taking a QB at #12 and ride Jimmy for the next year.

If the draft shakes out where someone worthy falls I wouldn't hate that.
If Watson demands a trade he could basically choose the team he wants to play for.

The niners would be in the running. The Texans cannot have a disgruntled Quarterback on the team.

A 2021, 2022,2023, first and a pair of thirds would the most the team should do.

Also his contract is reasonable this year

Jimmy's release saves about 23 million and Watson's contract is around 10.5 million this year. Houston eats the bonus.

We would be a playoff contender for years .

I'd love Trey Lance at #12.

That's not really how it works under the new CBA. It is cost prohibitive for a player to hold out and it only kills his value of he stinks it up on the field or sits out the season for wanting a say in something he has no business having a day in. I'm in the Dick Vermeil camp here, dude needs a diaper change for being pissy that they didn't consult him to hire someone.

All of that being said, no, i wouldn't give up the picks you mentioned for any QB in the NFL right now not named Mahommes.

I don't think he makes it there but I would share in your enthusiasm if it worked that way and we went that direction
Respectfully disagree. If he demands a trade it's horrible for the team to keep him around.

The team is in turmoil. They don't have a first or second round pick this year to boot.

They are way over the cap and the press and fans are turning on the owner and management. JJ wants out , too.

This is a rebuild.

We've seen this movie before and it rarely works out for either side. Le'veon Bell comes to mind. Is there an example you can think of where the player in a force their way out scenario went on to be successful if it wasn't during the draft process (so no using Elway, Manning)?

We can certainly disagree and I respect it. Just can't think of where it works when you have a short shelf like as an athlete. Seems it is almost always better to shut up and play.
