Yes!
I love Joe but he got long in the tooth, Williams is younger and a generational talent

Has a super bowl losing team ever gained this much talent in a single offseason? I would say that Aiyuk and Williams are better than Sanders and Staley.

Wirfs is a RG to RT if needed.
Ok.

Here's what helped set into motion the Trent Williams' trade: six-time Pro Bowl and All-Decade OT Joe Staley is expected to retire due to health concerns, per league sources. The 35-year-old Staley wanted to inform the 49ers in a timely way to help find a replacement. They have.

Great move to get Williams and it looks like Staley actually helped!
Wow, ShanaLynch have stones passing on Wirfs. It doesn't sound like the TW trade was done when they made that pick.
Absolutely stupid.
Why? Maybe they don't view Wirfs as highly as you do

Yep. This team (without Joe) MUST have an immediate LT during this Super Bowl window.

This is the kind of move New England makes. Nice to be on this side of it for a change.

No he said exactly that. He will NOT be playing anything but LT. He's gonna retire guys
Link??
Google it. He said it on a video this off season. Maybe he changes his mind but I highly doubt he moved inside at this pt in his career
I googled it....could not find anything where he said anything that sounded remotley like that....
Having said that, I did see a report that the Williams deal was going to be based on Staleys decision which makes me think he really might retire.
But that does not change the fact that Staley would never say something so diva-ish and selfish. He is a team first guy and if he stays I dont think he would mind moving if it was for the betterment of the team. If he stays...
I'm not going to look for it, but I am pretty sure NYniner is right. Not very helpful am I? Sorry

Damn, I hate the fact this damn team couldn't have won a SB for him along with guys like Gore
Same. Absolutely gutted for him.. Poor Joe.. I'm happy to welcome Trent on board. He's a captain and leader like Joe was for us, and should do well. We seem like we're really comfortable with our depth. I guess we'll worry about CB and S next year.
Expecting us to maybe take an IOL and LB in this draft and then rummage UDFA like we usually do.
This. Staley was a tremendous locker room presence and was a trooper even when this team stunk. I really wish he could have went out with a ring. He definitely deserved it.
