You're not sure about an elite left tackle? Lol

If your definition of an "elite left tackle" is getting our starting QB and RB's hammered onto IR, Lord help us.

He's still elite but for how long. If the niners can get 3 quality o linemen with Williams salary and cap number, that's the better route.

Get your ass out of here. This isn't a Steelers board

I'm sure he said he wanted to test the market. If he gets a competitive offer, I'm sure he'll give the 49ers the chance to match it.

Not necessarily true. Not something you want to see happen because the chance is there but given the low cap space this year teams may not be willing to break out the huge bucks. Obviously having a team like the Colts with lots of cap space isn't ideal but there's a pretty good OL draft. Teams may prefer to go younger/cheaper and use the cap for other spots but we'll see.

Plus there may be a part of him where he wants to be here so an offer from another team would have to be really out there to get him. Will the Colts go for it? I dunno...like I said I hope we don't find out.

If he does sign else where it will suck but may end up being a blessing in disguise like it was with Sanders - Aiyuk.

He said he wanted to test the market - so you can't blame him for seeing what else is out there. That's the chance the Warriors took, by not having the franchise tag option.

Warriors?

And they will. I think he's that important to ShanaLynch in protecting Jimmy. I think also, a guy like Mack can wait post June 1 for his money. Specially if Dee Ford is going to be difficult about his contact and his health. The two of them plus some good Rookie draftees will tremendously upgrade the OLine squad, my only worry is whether or not Foerster can coach them up enough to win that all important 19th game of the season.
rumors he has a 58M guaranteed deal w/ SF....
