I don't think KC will be able to sign him, they have other big needs, they can't afford to sign Trent, and then just draft the rest of the guys they need. I still think he ends up back in SF, I get he wants to test FA, but also the 49ers did right by him when they negotiated that deal to allow no tag, that shows the 49ers organization will do what it takes to get the players and do for them. Look they just gave Juice a raise, Trent is well worth $20M+, I'm guessing the 49ers made an offer in the $20M+ a yr, $60M GTD, letting him see what else is out there, I just hope he's true to his word, and like he said no rebuild, and he wants to be a 49er.

Yup that's where I see it too...I honestly think he just wants to see what his market it because he's never had that chance before.

He knows he will thrive in SF, dude put up probably his best season in a long time. Our OL coach and him are tight. Kyle and him are tight. SF just needs to be in the ball park end of the day. I'm sure someone will offer him more, will he just go for the cash? we will see. SF should have plan B in order just in case...I'm guessing we will have an answer soon though.

This is what I was talking about with Juice, Juice loves Shanahan, Shanny's kid was seen driving Kittle & Juice around on a golf course, plus the 49ers did right by Juice with the first deal, and now the 2nd deal, and he loves Bobby Turner, with Trent, he loves Chris Foerester our OL Coach, he loves the Shanahan's, he loves Kyle, he said he wants to be back, I think he just wants to feel what it's like to be a FA after 11 yrs in the league, I respect that, just better not go back on his word about a rebuilding team to get more money. We can offer him more money, just cause the Colts have $45M, we have $31M pre Moseley/Juice, doesn't mean we can't offer more per year, more GTD, etc....

I hope he resigns. Kc restructured Kelce and Chris Jones so now they have over 20 mil in cap space. They are gonna try snd make a run at him imo.

yup, SF does need to have a plan B though. IMO they should have something put together for guys like Russell Okung/Riley Reiff as well.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that though.
If I were the agent, I'd want to see what the market was offering before signing a deal.

It's an easier job when your client isn't expected to set the benchmark for money at his position. He has no frame of reference for what he should be asking for and doesn't want to leave money on the table. You could either take an offer and say "here is the highest contract ever for an offensive tackle." Or take a day or two to field offers and make sure you got the biggest one possible.

The fit here is too good. You can sign a huge contract but if the situation is unstable or the scheme isn't great for you, then you are more likely to underperform and less likely for the money in that contract to be realized before you get cut.

but they know exactly what the market is offering. don't be fooled by "legal" tampering period. Tampering is happening for a long time now, and the agent/trent know exactly what other teams are offering. They don't need to hear it today.

yeah agreed, they already have knowledge of what's going down before noon today. Maybe it's just trying to squeeze a little more out of SF
an hr before FA starts...Trent will be signed today without question.

Starting to get a little nervous

Jimmy's agent should be in touch with Trent's. Without Williams, JG has little chance of being successful or even finishing the season.
LT is the second most important position on the offense. Its worth the money! Come on lynch bring him home!!

Garafolo just said he will test FA and he will get PAID. The beliefs are he still ends up in SF but if some team goes over the top it might be enough to pull him away....state taxes might draw him elsewhere too.

State f**king taxes, I mean WTF lol. You'd think if that was such a huge thing there wouldn't be any stars in CA, NY, MIN, WI, Boston or PA?

DAMNIT, now I'm stressing out, I hope to god we get a deal done with Trent as soon as the tamper period is opened, let him see what others will offer, let the 49ers match it or beat it, we should be able to do so IMO, but damnit, was hoping maybe they had a deal done, and would announce it today after Juice's yesterday, kinda giving Juice yesterday, and Trent today to be in the spotlight.

Still say that he has already played and PAID for being with a loser in WASH. . KC can sign him but they need OLs all across the OL. Sign Trent and then they are on "hope and prayer" for remainder of OL. Playing for the SKINS was no picnic for Trent and he knows how it feels to play for a loser and and a lost F.O.
So , after he gets best offer, i think his agent does give offer to 9ers but if that team is not a "winner", including owner and F.O, then he takes the lesser offer from the 9ers. BUT...as you have said so many times, 9ers have to come up with more GTD $$$.

Trent had no fun playing for WASH, and most guys, esp top tier guys have no stomach for top dollar with a dog of a team. Sure some just want the GUIDAS($$) , and we all understand that. But i think Trent likes his coach, and wants to stay here. Given a choice between nowhere's-vile and $2 mil more per yr, i think Trent stays put...here.
So they are willing to give him 20 million a year.

I have no issue with that, nor would I have with $60M+($50M Fully GTD), or even as high as $22M a yr.
