Is Trent Williams the best left tackle of his generation?

As a career retrospective they are on par, Joe at his age vs Trent who is 4 years younger, yeah he is an upgrade, as much as I love Joe.

It's official.
The #49ers announce the trade to acquire seven-time Pro Bowl LT Trent Williams from Washington.

I second this opinion.

Kyle is never gonna take a guard in the 1st let alone at 13.

No he said exactly that. He will NOT be playing anything but LT. He's gonna retire guys
Link??
Google it. He said it on a video this off season. Maybe he changes his mind but I highly doubt he moved inside at this pt in his career
I googled it....could not find anything where he said anything that sounded remotley like that....
Having said that, I did see a report that the Williams deal was going to be based on Staleys decision which makes me think he really might retire.
But that does not change the fact that Staley would never say something so diva-ish and selfish. He is a team first guy and if he stays I dont think he would mind moving if it was for the betterment of the team. If he stays...
Staley 100% said those exact words in a video last year. Its factual information. He sees RT as a demotion, and said if he wasn't good enough to start at LT anymore, it was time to go.

They can wait to see what he's got. Probably the prudent thing to do. If there is a good relationship between Trent and Shanny he will be more likely to wait. Probably just super stoked to be out of Washington.

No way do I want to underscore what Staley meant to this locker room. Guy was incredibly passionate and a true pillar of this team for a long time.
I will say though that I think this current team has a good amount of people that I think can take the reigns and keep the culture moving forward.

I saw Trent Williams limp around the locker room, sacrificing his body for teams that wouldn't finish no better than 9-7, because he believed in his teammates and coaches.

The franchise abused Trent's loyalty to the point of no return. Because that's what toxic franchises do.

Willams is better than Staley. It is very very unlikely Aiyuk is better than Sanders in the coming season.
