I'd rather leave him at RT and have Brunskill start at LT. Spend a second day pick on a center and maybe sign a guard and that's a serviceable o-line.
Give it some time, it sounds like he wants to be here but is testing the market as expected. It may be that the Niner FO has a max figure that they won't go above, and he may walk. If it happens, hopefully they can find some value in other FAs and the draft...but it would certainly be a disappointment if TW walks. Especially if he goes to KC

...he didn't let Buckner "walk in FA" nor is that a pattern...??

Yes because I would love to see a rookie lt protecting jimmy g
I swear to god if we lose Trent in FA after doing right by him last year, we didn't have to redo his deal, to add the no tag clause, he made what he was scheduled to make. The 49ers did right by him, this is pure BS if he bolts for more money, so much for his love for Kyle and the 49ers being at the top and wanting to be back.

We did right by him but that doesn't obligate him to re-sign here if other teams are offering him more money or a chance to get a ring.

Why? Why do players have to be "loyal"? Literally every player in this league is a mercenary. Every one of them. And that's the way it should be.

So, where's this massive TW deal? You know, the one everyone expected he would get? Because he's worth $20 million a year over four years? Yeah, that contract?

Or, perhaps TW ain't worth all that.

Yeah because we got McG to protect the QBs blindside....

Glinch is a much better and cheaper option if the 49ers do choose to slide him over. But I don't think that's the plan. Nor do I think TW is gone. Yet.

What I do know is that all of you are vastly overrating TW's value. The 49er offensive line had some big problems last season. I don't think any of you can argue against that. Part of that problem was the play of TW.

kc is bidding him up to protect qb of the century. so its an upgrade to perennial 6-10 kyle.

Yeah I'm going to be pretty mad if we lose him. At the time I didn't understand why in the heck we would put the clause in of not being able to franchise tag him and still dont understand that. Nice gesture? Well who cares if you lose the player....
