looks like Quarterback talk is gonna die down. Next up, Niner fans will be demanding a trade up into the top 10 for Penei Sewell or Rashawn Slater.
Should've been on the OL bandwagon anyway.

This takes KC off the board.
"While the New England Patriots started the legal tampering period by bringing four players aboard from outside the organization, their biggest in-house free agent remained unaccounted for. Now, however, Joe Thuney has found a home — and it is not in New England: the Patriots' long-time starting left tackle will join the Kansas City Chiefs on a five-year contract worth a total of $80 million."
Apparently, it doesn't because they backloaded the contract. But it is unlikely because at some point they are going to have to pay all these players.
Yup only 4.5 this year. Plenty to sign TW with.
But they barely have any space as it is. Without that deal.

The cap hit for this year is small. They'll find a way to keep handing out huge deals and delay paying until Mahomes retires.

TW first year won't be a massive cap hit either. For anyone he signs with. Every team is back loading contracts with salary cap blowing up next couple years.
Surprisingly, I'm not too worried about Trent Williams leaving via free agency. My read is that what he really wants is to know his value on the open market and to be wined and dined a little bit as part of the free agency process. Ultimately, Williams has been expressing that his preference is to return to SF and the 49ers seem willing to oblige. Trent Williams is worth what he's going to get.
