Would he really want to go to Indy? Aren't they going into semi rebuild and need a new starting QB ?

Huh? Colts are one of the youngest, ascending teams in the league. 11-5 last year with a playoff. Colts are in a better position to win now than the 49ers.

Didn't Rivers retire?

Wentz is there.

they have 3 or 4 dudes they gotta pay a ton of cash in the next yr or so though.
Foooooooouuuuuur Yeeeeeeeaaaaaarrrsss, Eiiiiiigggggghhhhttttyyyyyyy milllllllllllllllllllliooooooooooonnnnnnnn dooooooooolllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssssss.

Depends on where he lands. Some states have no income tax. That saves 13% for the player. At his salary, that's over $2.5 million.

Also cost of living differences. In the Bay Area, $5 million gets you a larger than average house. In Indiana it gets you a giant mansion, a hundred acres of land and a custom underground Bond villain style secret hideout.

Good lord people stop with the AVV stuff...that means a bunch of nothing.

it's about the gtd cash. We've been through this with the Kittle stuff.

would you rather get 4 yrs $80M but $55M of it was gtd or 4 yes $90M and $40M gtd?

GTD money is ALL that matters when you play football.

THIS x100.

People are forgetting how good this Niners team is when they are healthy. They lost like 75% of their team last season, got kicked out of their home, and still won 6 games. And had a 1st place schedule. Though I now wish we had lost 90% of our players so we could have lose a few more games.

Forgot about Wentz. He's a coin flip good or bad but looked horrible last year.
Just sign it Trent.

Why is this a surprise? They've been saying 20 mil/year for 2 weeks now. This is exactly that. Also, as NY said this means absolutely nothing it's all about guarantees.

If thats how he shows his thankfulness, he should leave better now than later.
Wants to be on a contender and forcing teams into cap hell, very wise.

I bet he has not earned any money in his career yet so 20 Million/year is just managing his living costs.

If 20 mil a year just manages his living costs he should strongly consider his lifestyle choices. I mean with that much $$$ coming in his money should be making money not just getting him by year to year

have you checked how much he and others pay in taxes in cal..

Yeah half your paycheck just like me. I make much less than a million per year and I live comfortably and my money makes money. Please don't tell me he needs 20 mil a year just to manage living costs. Lmao

Rivers was more of a negative than a positive last season.

No, no. Go back and read. This is not about the value or the amount. It is about: Foooooooouuuuuur Yeeeeeeeaaaaaarrrsss, Eiiiiiigggggghhhhttttyyyyyyy milllllllllllllllllllliooooooooooonnnnnnnn dooooooooolllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssssss.

And how much stupid money that really is. I want you to say it out loud:

Foooooooouuuuuur Yeeeeeeeaaaaaarrrsss, Eiiiiiigggggghhhhttttyyyyyyy milllllllllllllllllllliooooooooooonnnnnnnn dooooooooolllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssssss.

These rich guys have skilled money managers. Trent after all these years has to have a good one to help keep his charities and taxes in order.

If the Colts land TW they would be in a better position to win than SF who has multiple key players coming off big injuries. Not to mention the huge difference in OL play.
