Unreal.
What if the FO didn't think he was good?
LOL
Seems like a lot of teams passed on Wirfs as well....some well respected reporters who spoke to front office guys didn't even have him as a tackle.
Literally doesn't solve anything at OT in this scenario.
Trent Williams is the best LT in football

Here's what helped set into motion the Trent Williams' trade: six-time Pro Bowl and All-Decade OT Joe Staley is expected to retire due to health concerns, per league sources. The 35-year-old Staley wanted to inform the 49ers in a timely way to help find a replacement. They have.

Great move to get Williams and it looks like Staley actually helped!
Wow, ShanaLynch have stones passing on Wirfs. It doesn't sound like the TW trade was done when they made that pick.
Absolutely stupid.
Why? Maybe they don't view Wirfs as highly as you do
Lol it's pretty entertaining watching folks grasp at straws to bash Lynch
He literally just swapped out one starter with another...again. I love the trade but he's done nothing to update. It's not bashing him...it's stating facts.

Lynch is like a riverboat gambler. Had a highly rated OT at 13 and passed. Then waits until the 3rd day to pull off a royal flush. OMG!

At what? I think clearly Aiyuk will be better at RAC, and clearly Kyle can get the ball in his hands. Total receptions, you may be right.

NCommand has a long history of hating how our front office views linemen lol
I thought the Trent Williams trade would silence NCommand for 4 hours, but I was wrong.

What I think we're gonna miss about Sanders is the veteran leadership he provided to the wr room. I hope someone like Deebo or even Bourne steps up and becomes that guy for the wr group.

The trade demands for Williams was like a 1st rounder then... I think a 5th this year and a 3rd next year is a much better deal. And you're underestimating what Sanders brought to our young WRs, especially Deebo.

That is a goddamn poker face, Lynch is a beast
Wait a minute...NCommand has been wanting them to address OLine and they walk away with a BETTER LT than Staley and there is still a problem?
Provided that Trent Williams is in shape and ready to go, the Oline is improved. Now we can focus on guard and center (I have no confidence in Richburg's health long term).

He's a top 10 T with the aptitude to play both RG and RT...IOL/PP, our #1 weakness by a country mile. 3T is nice and I like Kinlaw but it is what it is.

They could have made a trade with the Niners for Cousins back in the day and get some draft picks.
But nope, they won´t trade with a Shanahan and Cousins left as a free agent.
And then this Trent Williams situation. They could have a first rounder last year! There was offers on the table from other teams.

They have gotten younger and in better position salary cap wise which is pretty major.

Matt Maiocco is the best! Never fake news. Always the truth! He called it!
Much respect to MM, I kind of doubted him.
Yup, much respect. And i just wondered if he had been carrying water for kyle during the draft. Nope , he was spot on and it wasn't fake news as some had thot.
I knew MM was in tight with the 9ers, I just didn't think he would be this right. This is closer than Adam Schefter could get!!!
