A 49ers source tells ESPN's Dianna Russini the team is making an "all hands on deck effort" to re-sign free agent LT Trent Williams.

"Nothing yet, but trust me," the source said. Despite not playing in 2019, Williams immediately slotted back in as one of the league's best overall players in 2020. He turns 33 in July, but he is still worthy of multi-year offers. Williams would be a huge loss for the 49ers.

Idk. Not sure how I feel about $20mil a year for him. That's a lot of cap money for a non-Qb. I know he's great but I wonder if one of the top tackles in the draft could replace him adequately at a fraction of the cost?

We need a QB in the 1st.

Sign Williams.

I see what you did there
Do I take $18-20 million a year and we can afford other guys who can help us win, or do I need $25 mil for my ego...I will take the $18 mil every time. I want to win because it's much more fun, and I can't spend that much money in my lifetime anyway. That's just me. When guys say "I'd take as much as I could get," well, I would just add the part about "within reason."
This offseason is weird. We're not hoping we get players as much as we're hoping we don't lose too many players.

Because when healthy this this the most balanced roster in the nfl.
Trent Williams is raping the 49ers while he is vacationing in Mexico. The 49ers have their hands tied while they are waiting for him. In the meantime, all of these other free agents (e.g. Linsley, Thuney) are being snatched.

Yeah but who else is going to give a 33 year-old LT a 4 year deal?
