Sign him. We need him period. To not have him even if we draft a tackle in the first round add Alex Mack. For whoever we play at quarterback it's not good enough. At this point I think we need to sign him I think we need to draft a starting tackle to replace McGlinchey, and we need to add a center. And that's just the start of it

Matt barrows was on knbr saying he thinks Trent Williams is just playing the free agent game flirting with other teams so the niners give him a little bit more money playing each team against each other but he thinks he will sign with the niners. He thinks the niners would be willing to go to 22 to 23 million a year with good guarantee 💰 if they have to so this is a process that will play out. Trent wants to come back he just wants to try and squeeze more money from the niners.
Yup, agree, that's how I'm reading it too.
I think he'll eventually sign. Paraag and ShanaLynch know Trents market value and they are willing to pay a fair value, but not willing to overpay too much. KC just wants to push more financial pain on the 49ers and are helping Trent push those guaranteed payments up to screw a competitor.
I think once we get Trent signed up, they will know how much is left for other free agents like Alex Mack.

Yeah, if he's going to dick us around let him walk. He's holding up our other business with his waiting it out.

I wonder if the reason Lynch is not following the suit of other teams when it comes to kicking the can down the road is because they need to extend Warner who will be getting a bunch of money in future years and also Bosa in a couple of years will be getting his extension which could reach $30 Million if he is healthy the next couple of seasons.
New television deal should kick in well before 2023.
I think its just good cap discipline. Patriots got a dynasty because of good cap discipline and management. If you look back at the dynasty years, other than Steve Young, I dont really remember Bill shelling out big bucks for free agents. One reason is becauee he could draft and develop the players he needed. I mean a lot of teams wanted his QB hand-me-downs like elvis gerbac, Bono, and Cavanaugh.
I think Kyle is the same way, he's pretty confident he can draft and develop players well -- that he really thinks he doesn't need to be extravagant in the free agency period. If he really thinks that way, then it explains NCommands annoyed posts about Kyle not opting to go for expensive free agents in the free agency period.
