I actually like this.

I want a little attitude, some rough-around-the-edges mentality that we're kinda lacking.

I don't want a perennial Jovan Belcher Commitment to Excellence Award winner that KC seems to covet, but I'd like something that gives us more of an edge when it counts. We need chips on our shoulder--the feel good UDFA stories are great but losing a superbowl is making me look elsewhere for inspiration.

T.W not screwing around, all heart and won't back down!

We needed this attitude up front. Plus he socked Sherman so fast, he looked like Suge Knight in his prime LOL

Hahha I'm actually more impressed with Sherman he ate that punch pretty well. I was surprise he didn't fall down.

That's what I'm talking about!

YES, Sherman wants a ring!

Plus he will get his re-match in the locker room LOL

For this year anything more than a 6th or 7th rounder ya it does. What is it the 6th rd now? We don't need more 2021 picks we need more 2020 picks. Our window is open now. This is only viable if their plan is to make a run in 2021 and not 2020 which I'm suspecting more an more.

Last I checked, 1. our roster is super deep, so not many rooks will make the roster, and 2. 6th and 7th rd picks can contribute just as well as day 1 or 2, or rd 4-5 players can, so don't act like you need high picks every years to be good.

You can only trade away your future for so long before that method comes to a halt

Pretty amazing job by Lynch. Instead of just drafting Wirfs....we trade back and add kinlaw. Use that pick to help get Aiyuk, then get our LT for a 5 and future 3? Brilliant job vs just taking Wirfs

Oh hell yeah! Shany/Lynch did great!
The comp pick we get for Sanders will probably be a 4th rounder in the 2021 draft. Sanders didn't sign for much, and we need to not sign anyone big to off set the Sanders signing. If for some reason Williams doesn't sign an extension, and leaves after the 2020 season, we will probably net a 3rd round comp pick in the 2022 draft, assuming Williams gets a big deal in FA.

I just hope we sing Williams to a 4 year extension on top of his 1 year deal he has left on his deal. 4 years at around 72-80 million with half of it guaranteed might get it done.

Staley did the team a solid by not announcing anything prior to the draft.

That's one reason among many that Staley is an all time super Niner.

On the Mt. Rushmore of 21st century 49ers, Joseph Staley is firmly entrenched in my mind.

Are we sure Trent Williams is still good? Tired of giving up good picks for rentals. This will doubly suck if the season never happens

Hes 31 and has made the Pro Bowl in his last 7 seasons...

Uh yeah it's not a good pick until you make it and they play and show they are good so......can't understand how fans could not like this move rental or not. You get a comp pick if he walks which would probably be a 3rd. He's an elite LT. Rental or not he helps us this year (there will be a season) immensely. I'm concerned with this year. I don't run the team and could give a crap about 2021. We are ready to win this year.

But still Upset that we traded away more draft picks rather than players. We're way beyond that, we need to be trading players not picks. And the last thing we should have done after a draft with like a record breaking low amount of picks (4 now!) is trade away 2021 picks. We have no 3rd rounder next year now.
All we have left this year is a 6th an 7th. This draft is over. We came out of the 2020 draft with 2 rookies basically. Can't believe it.

I love that lynch is willing to trade an move around unlike baalke was but he's getting way too fluid an giving up way too many resources that we're gonna need in the future.

But the idea is to get better. If that be from draft fine. If it be from trades fine. But keep the goal in mind...getting better, who cares how? True you do have to pay for it but Williams instea of Wirfs? No comparison. NONE.
Hopefully we find trade partners for Breida+Goodwin today, we clear a little money off the books, while also hopefully adding draft capital either this year or next.

Sherm was expecting it.

It's way harder to drop someone when they know it's coming.

99.9% of those k.o. videos on the net are total sucker punches.

Great in pass pro, younger, restructured his contract...this lessens the blow of Staley leaving

Kinda stupid to post that Jed, I'm pretty sure both remember that. After all this is the internets where you can see everything on the line.

Wow that was way stupid how do you welcome him by bringing up old beef like that. That only makes it more awkward for both him and Sherm, for all we know they still have a bit of distain for each other. I see them squashing the beef but not becoming friends hope I'm wrong
