I've still never believed for one second in the idea that one player can screw up a locker room. Media drives that idea.

Did Aldon Smith abuse Trent Williams back in the day or was it the other way around?

But still Upset that we traded away more draft picks rather than players. We're way beyond that, we need to be trading players not picks. And the last thing we should have done after a draft with like a record breaking low amount of picks (4 now!) is trade away 2021 picks. We have no 3rd rounder next year now.
All we have left this year is a 6th an 7th. This draft is over. We came out of the 2020 draft with 2 rookies basically. Can't believe it.

I love that lynch is willing to trade an move around unlike baalke was but he's getting way too fluid an giving up way too many resources that we're gonna need in the future.

You need to have a trade partner that is willing to take a player.

It has been clear for weeks that Breida, Goodwin and Pettis were available but no takers. That is confirmed by the Aiyuk pick.

Stupid. They pass on Wirfs, a talented 10 year tackle prospect. If they knew Staley was not coming back there was plenty of defensive tackles in free agency that cost what you're going to pay William's that would've been perfectly fine for the time being. Defensive tackles are a dime a dozen compared to talented offense tackles.

How is it stupid, they just got a 7 time pro bowl LT for peanuts, so what they didn't know for sure on Day 1, they got him, can't people just be happy and not get all pissed off. Plus why draft a rookie LT to protect Jimmy, doubt a rookie would do well on a SB roster, sorry never happening. Plus Wirfs is a RT, not a LT, and MM isn't moving to LT.

Because they knew before the draft and there was no guarantee they'd get Trent Williams and they STILL went 3T.

And this:

Williams-Tomlinson-Richburg-Wirfs-McGlinchey is far more important a need than Armstead-Jones-Taylor-Bosa in a passing league.

Not to mention we have 100 other IDL that can rotate downs.

If Brunskill isn't the guy, Tom Compton is. LOL

If a 3rd round pick next year is your future then you have bigger problems. Truth is. the future is almost always now in the NFL. There are teams that have been 'building for the future' like Detroit, Chicago and the Bengals but the future never gets here. Players leave thru free agency or retirement. Injuries change the complexion of a team in a heartbeat. Only about 60% of 3rd rounders are still on the team that drafted them by year 3. By year 4 it's down to 37%. So all this drafting for the future is really a mirage. It's not like the old days when you could draft a player and there was no salary cap and the player couldn't leave thru free agency.
DID we ever retire #71??

One of the 49ers Greats in Keith Fahnhorst used to wear that...

TRENT " THE BIG CAT " WILLIAMS !!!
assuming we re do his deal, this takes a huge need away from us for the next 3-4 years hopefully. 2021 will be the focus all on CB.

For this year anything more than a 6th or 7th rounder ya it does. What is it the 6th rd now? We don't need more 2021 picks we need more 2020 picks. Our window is open now. This is only viable if their plan is to make a run in 2021 and not 2020 which I'm suspecting more an more.

Last I checked, 1. our roster is super deep, so not many rooks will make the roster, and 2. 6th and 7th rd picks can contribute just as well as day 1 or 2, or rd 4-5 players can, so don't act like you need high picks every years to be good.

You can only trade away your future for so long before that method comes to a halt

Your takes are so terrible hahaha...I'm getting a good laugh. So terrible that I wonder if it is trolling

Kinda stupid to post that Jed, I'm pretty sure both remember that. After all this is the internets where you can see everything on the line.

I think its going to be okay

Man I hope so. From hearing how the 9ers talk about how good their locker room is, I'd hate to see it screwed up over one decision made.

I thought Jed's comment was absolutely brilliant. You know some in the media were going to harp on this, and now everyone has the perfect self-effacing out. PR gold.

Well I'm not in a NFL locker room so I can't say otherwise. But when you have a bunch of grown ass men whose making millions of dollars, you get different types of egos. So one can assume no matter what we read.

Staley did the team a solid by not announcing anything prior to the draft.

That's one reason among many that Staley is an all time super Niner.

On the Mt. Rushmore of 21st century 49ers, Joseph Staley is firmly entrenched in my mind.

I understand and agree with thl...mostly.

But wouldn't shopping TW kinda tip our hand that we were looking for a replacement for Staley?

I think there was probably a lot done behind the scenes we don't know about.
AB....how do we afford Kittle and Williams contracts long term?

Can you or anyone explain how this is easily doable this offseason?
