We need to start grooming young LT for the future while Trent is still here. Nothing better than to learn from the best.

Our SB window is open aslong as Purdy is cheap which should still be for the next 3 years. And if Purdy turns out to be the guy and a bonafide top 7-8 QB the window opens even longer. But yeah finding a replacement for Trent is the biggest key to keeping us SB favorites.

It's a big must. Especially while we have Trent so he can learn from him.
Sex Machine…..that is all. Looks like we are going to win "Back to Back" SB's

Draft or sign a LT when he leaves

Just trade for a good proven vet LT bc he won't be as expensive as Trent.

This is a guarantee of getting a quality player, but also the most expensive option if said player is any good. You can get a bargain if something has gone extremely wrong (like we did with Trent), but you cannot count on those deals. Draft and develop.

Signing one is ultra expensive. We need good players on rookie deals.

Also, so glad Trent is returning, but I'd pencil him in for 5 games of not playing each year. He's so good that it doesn't bother me (particularly at his age). But they should draft someone they would be comfortable starting in year 1. Taking a 1st or even 2nd rounder (if BPA) ensures that.

It's an expensive option but like I said it will be cheaper than Trent now. Also you HAVE to invest in a good LT if you want to keep your qb healthy.

Drafting a Tackle to groom is no guarantee either. FAR from it. Also, are we really going to get a good tackle at 32 or in the high 20's. NOPE. If we trade up that will cost us draft capital. So like I said (and I'm glad Kyle and John agreed), the best way to keep the offense humming and elite is to make sure there is as little drop off as possible and imo that's another trade. KC did it and other contending teams did too and are much better for it. Even Houston has a great LT, even if he is injured here and there like Trent.

They will probably be drafting 2 or 3 O linemen since it's a strong year at that position. They can draft a college LT and let him play RT until Trent retires. They may be able to get another one in free agency or through a trade but the Niners can't count on finding a LT and RB the caliber of Trent and CMC for so little capital. LTs like Trent usually don't get traded. Wash was concerned about his health but that turned out to be a mistake. Carolina just wanted to make a change and CMC happened to be perfect for Kyle's system.

I think we draft a really talented tackle with our first round pick this year (depending on how it falls together). I can see us getting someone who can play as our swing tackle, but also develop and eventually take over for Trent.

Draft BPA outside of QB and RB.

We could use a corner, a DE, a DT, and multiple offensive line positions.

But BPA is the best way because imagine if we go into the draft saying we're drafting OL with our first pick no matter what, yet the board is the opposite of the Kinlaw - Wirfs draft. And we end up with another Mike Mglinchy 2.0 and pass on Maxx Crosby 2.0, or Jaire Alexaner 2.0.

Feel like he gets injured in most of our ugly losses lol..... Den game, Cleve game, that game on xmas.

That would bean interesting case study. When they're getting their asses kicked, they do seem to drop like flies even more from overextending themselves. We lost what, 3 OL in just the Ravens game?
Like insult to injury when Trent goes down.
Xmas game felt like this too.

when it rains, it pours.

Yup, that's what we did with Brendel. He learned from Alex Mack.
