Actually, I hope his cap space is freed up for Purdy.
I can't believe what I heard this afternoon. Trent is old and OTW out so why is he asking for a new deal? He barely made it through last year and so I was certain retirement was on the horizon. Maybe one more last year, this year.

Does he have trade value at this point in his career, which I'm thinking this is his last year playing?

cash grab

i don't see as very tradable, i mean yes, he has trade value, but we are all in to win, and giving up a HOF LT, even if you bake in some decline, for draft picks, or a pick, is counter to where this team is at in the timeline

Uh no, just add another year and spread out the guaranteed money
Bought too much Prada I guess. Lol he is getting up there wth lol. He had turf toe what seemed like forever last season. Maybe if this was 2022..but it isn't lol, he is one of the highest paid players on the 9ers, isn't he?

Purdy won't be Purdy behind that OL without Trent. People are crazy tripping on here.

You actually think Kyle would just give up Trent Williams and not have a back up plan? Kyle went from Joe Staley to Trent Williams, he knows whats up!!!
i'm a cheap b*****d and even I know that you give Trent Williams whatever he wants
Wow I was so busy at work today I missed this entire news. The piggy bank is drying up.

I thought Trent was happy but guess not.

Drama drama this year..
Tbh this is dick move. And exactly why we should have drafted o-line early and often.

Best OT in league doesn't have any guaranteed money coming his way and extending him would save us money. This was what Michael Scott would consider a win, win, win

Amen, we now don't have a choice but to pay him and not go in another direction. TW is probably one of the best OL we have ever had but he is getting older. We should have been drafting earlier so if this crap comes up at this time in his career we have some leverage. If we don't sign TW we are toast and he knows it.
