Easy to say, hard to accomplish. You have to have someone to dance with,...ALL THE TIME. Yo can't make a team @ the 29th spot trade with you,...they have to be willing. As it turned out,...Minnesota was probably willing way before the draft,...and things turned out the way it did by the time we got to #25,...so the dominoes fell into place.

Tampa panicking allowed us to get Aiyuk,...and Trent clearly wasn't interested in them, or he'd probably be there protect Brady and his experiment down there at his retirement home.

Also to the person saying we could've given Minnesota a pick next year,...well,...who do they have their eyes on THIS YEAR come the 4th round is what really mattered. And for all we know that player wasnt even there anymore,...but they took D.J. Wonnum, a DE out of South Carolina, with our pick.

It's all CRYSTAL CLEAR if you just connect the dots.

Or, if interested, is there a minimal OL coaching job, such as Quality control or something equivalent where he could retire and just consult on OL play? That might get him a ring also.
After all he has given us, that would seem only fair, since he is retiring due to injury. As a backup for injury only...well, that's a bit different.

He's retiring but I bet he does come back and coach some day. He's just one of those guys who needs to be around the guys.

One more time so it is clear,...If Washington, San Fran, or Staley, or Trent had let this out of the bag,...we probably don't get Aiyuk.

This! Over and over and over!

Washington picked an OT in the 4th. Did the Williams announcement come after their pick?

Silence helped everyone involved!!!

You guys keep repeating that statement maybe you could enlighten me as to why. Traded away a 5,7th and a 3 next year. So your saying we couldn't use some other asset to move up to get Aiyuk.

It is based on the idea that if we didn't get the 4th in the trade back, we would have had to use probably three existing picks (with one of them needed for the Williams trade) to be in the conversation for the trade-up. It is also entirely possible that the Vikings wouldn't have wanted have been interested in the later round picks.

I love ya NC, but c'mon man, they just got the 2nd best DT and a 7 time pro bowl LT, and getting WIrfs would be redundant IMO, he's a RT and RG, we're fine at those, Brunskill is a good player, they know more than we do, people always overreact, no need to do this. We have a great OL IMO, and Kinlaw is a better DT than Taylor or any of the other IDL we have, so I'm happy with this draft/offseason.

If you think an AAF talent in Brunskill is in the same talent level as Wirfs, I'm going to have to slightly disagree with you. Wirfs also gives you the added benefit of keeping top talent at T should McGlinchey go down (he goes down every year with injury).

What does AAF have to do with anything?

Talent level.

Referencing AAF just seems to be a way to try and denigrate the guy. Not all good players are division 1 1st round picks....not even kind of. He proved last year he could play at a high level, so him coming from AAF means absolutely nothing .
Niners just drafted an OT in 5th btw. Not too familiar with him.

We should have drafted a number 1 TE with our 1st round pick. George Kittle is only a 5th round talent.

Lol

He's right. We should have. Had they known Kittle's full ability, he would have been a 1st round pick. Talent slips through the cracks all the time but comparing a consensus top 4 T, top 10 T to a player out of the AAF is a little odd.

No one is comparing Brunskill to him though. To try and say Brunskill somehow should not or cannot be the RG because he came from AAF is incredibly odd logic. If he's performing at a high level in the pros, why does it matter where he came from?
I love the move, but lets not act like Brunskill wasn't one of the pass protectors in the league when he started.

We signing him to an extension?

Brunskill will be around for many years in the NFL. At the very minimum, a valuable backup. He'll play this year because injuries will happen and I have full confidence in him.

FACTS @AB81rules!!

I don't really understand why people are in a tissy over this trade. This is a SB team poised to be back in the SB. We actually manage to GET BETTER, replaced top departures, while not having a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th round picks. I just don't think people really understand what Kyle and Lynch have just pulled off this weekend; and we still have player assets to trade for picks and two more picks with still yet really good talent draft with it. I fail to understand why people are pissed.

Truth. It's actually damn impressive. Real damn impressive.
