I do. Trent is the best left tackle in football. He's waiting for those other lesser left tackle deals to get done to see his market value - since he's the best. His deal will get done pretty much dead last. Aiyuk same also, he's a good WR. He's waiting for the other WR's deals to get done to squeeze the most he can get from the 49ers. But, I'm confident both deals will get done. 49ers are too desperate to win the super bowl this year - they will pay them.

Then we have to keep doing this every year with various players
How long can Trent hold out? I understand BA can miss 6 games and then has to report but I'm not sure how it works under new cba for a guy like Trent holding out.
Trent holding out is kind of annoying. When he got his massive deal, he was the highest paid OT in the whole league, now he wants to just keep redoing it every time someone passes him? We have him under control for what, 3 more years? If we give him a raise this year, he will just want another next year, and the year after assuming he stays healthy. I would call his bluff, and if he wants to retire, then so be it. This is a bad move to constantly redo players deals if they live up to their contract.

BA has to Report for 6 games or he loses the year, and still owes us the 5th year. He can miss more than 6. I don't know how the bye week and playoff games count.

Trent has already gained free agency when not under contract. He loses $50k/game unforgivable per league rules. The exception to that being unforgivable is when under a rookie contract, which applies to BA. During the season, Trent and BA will lose game checks.

It's probably the fact that most of his gtd cash is gone. Not that he wants his contract completely redone. Just do what they did for CMC and let's keep going forward

No I'm pretty sure Trent wants to be highest paid as he's the best LT in the game. He sees all this money being thrown about and he's a mercenary looking to get paid and he's gonna do this regularly until he retires as he should when he has more leverage than Bosa did

All these guys are trying to get paid prior to Brock who's playing for pennies

Ya because they really have a great backup plan to Trent! This is the way the NFL is. It works both ways teams cut guys, ask them to take pay cuts, etc. If contracts were all fully guaranteed it wouldn't work this way
Why don't they just sign one year deals so they can be the highest paid each year. This is BS. Every contract is going to be surpassed by the next player to sign. This is an ego thing more than the actual amount they're being paid. Maybe they need to start paying higher bonuses at the end of the year based on games played, performance ratings ,etc. instead of this constant renegotiating. The players probably won't want that since they would actually need to perform to earn their money.

Trent can retire.

He is 36, has $, and doesn't need to be playing football at this point.

You are forgetting that there is always another team that will pay these guys. This is exactly what the league wants out of free agency.

The league got tired of seeing the Steelers, Cowboys, and Niners win Super Bowls.

Then enter the Patriots, a team led by Brady that cared about winning Super Bowls, and not players being obsessed with being the highest paid at the position. The longer that Brady is gone, the more respect I have for that dude and his desire to just win.

You are forgetting that Trent can't touch any other team. He's got three years left under his contract. If contract law doesn't apply, there is no league.

You can't expect most players to do what Brady did since they aren't married to a super model making twice as much as he did. The Pats also had the luxury of playing in the weakest division in the NFL for most of those years so they had an automatic first round bye. Belichick is probably the greatest defensive coach in my lifetime and he built his teams around that. They never had a lot of high profile players on offense and that's where most of the high paid guys are. They relied on defense to keep the score close and give good field position to the offense.

It wasn't so much the Steelers, it was us, the Giants and Washington in the 80s, and Dallas joining the fun in the 90s.

The Bears in 85 and Packers in 96 were the only NFC teams that weren't San Francisco, Dallas, New York and Washington to win a Super Bowl during that run where the NFC won 13 consecutive Super Bowls.

Yeah then it had to deal with the Patriots and now the Chiefs winning every Super Bowl while over half of the league remains mediocre/garbage. The salary cap is b******t in todays league
