But the comparison was more for their age and TW is not that far away from 38 or 40. I think TW could play till he's 40. IMO
Health is genetic, habit and luck. You usually go off a cliff when it's time.
Are we going to compare RB longevity to Frank Gore.
No one is comparing OT longevity to Andrew Whitworth. But FWIW, Trent Williams has been pretty healthy since he's been in SF. He must feel pretty good if he's talking about playing another 2-3 seasons.

He is too old to sit out an entire season. Should have drafted an offensive tackle.
I think this is his final season anyway, he's 36 years old.
Andrew Whitworth was still effective at 40 years old, started 15 games for the Rams. At 38 years old he started 16 games and that's where I predict Trent Williams will play his last season at.
He's already said one or two more seasons.
He literally said he wants to play till 40.

With all this money being passed out and with us in the midst of our championship window, I have always felt the Trent would have a chance to play ball until he is 40 years old if he so chooses. He is already a rich man but with the type of money being made now and with him STILL being the best LT in the game, why would he not make his cake just because he can and leave the game immensely wealthier?

He has made a ton of money. And still is in line to make a ton of money. But he cares about his paycheck more than winning. Tbh if these dopes were smart enough to invest in the o line more the last few years they could and probably would have called his bluff.

While BA and his team won't the shut f**k up, we haven't heard a peep about Trent's situation from his camp or the Niners.

May call it anyway. He's shown he doesn't mind sitting out. Could very well have played his last down in the NFL 🤷♂️.
Forcing us to get younger wouldn't be the worst long-term decision. Would certainly hurt our chances over the next year or two though

Trent wants BA and his camp to just shut the f**k up. Then Trent will sign. His words not mine.

It's impressive how BA news completely overshadowes that the starting all pro LT has not been with the team since the SB and the season starts in less than a month.

I think we treat Trent Williams like that really drunk uncle on Thanksgiving that you see once a year. He shows up, dominates the family football game in the front yard, tells everyone that Jews run Hollywood and the world, eats, then goes home. We put up with him because we take the annual family pigskin game very serious and he is a must have on your team even though he's racist and rubs your shoulders from behind a few seconds too long.

He's no spring chicken. He is missing out on prep to be ready for the season. I can feel a not ready football injury coming if he isn't out there soon.
Yeah he's a vet. Yeah he is Trent but due to age he is missing out on valuable body prep time.
