Without him we are just a regular team.
Truth.
Im sure the 49ers want to take a hard line with him because of his age but they know they hold no cards right now. They have zero leverage. If they want him back this year they are just gonna have to pay the man what he wants.
We have been successful and also made it to a SB without him. Im not saying we should not get him back on the field, but it's not impossible to win without him as history proves this.
hopefully it does work out

We got to bring him in. Imagine going into the season without him. Our line is sub par. It's a catastrophe without Trent Williams.

I know the thought is blasphemy, and I'm not familiar with the particulars of his contract (eg no trade clause), but what could we get in return for him ? Focusing on the offensive line, that is. Is he worth trading for two good or one good / one developing player on the o-line? Would any team make that trade knowing one of the greatest to play at his position is in the tail end of his career ?

We had Joe Staley, who isn't as good as Trent, but was still a 6x time pro bowler and 3x all pro.
We currently don't have an offensive linemen of that caliber on the roster

Staley was a shell of himself. And the rest of the line is better than what we had in 19

Kyle said nothing has changed when it comes to Trent. It's August 20th and he has now been holding out for 27 days, He's the best LT in the league and you have no replacement for him and you are trying to win a SB. So how the hell has nothing changed since the 1st day he decided to hold out? Makes no sense what Lynch is doing. If there is no progression in 27 days how the hell do we expect this to get resolved in the next 2 weeks? Is Lynch and Trent's agent even talking?

Can't force Trent. Sounds like he's retired

Didn't Trent say early in the offseason that he doesn't plan on retiring anytime soon, and that he wants to break the record for most consecutive all-pro seasons?

We had Joe Staley at LT. Trent is better, but the gap between Trent and Joe is not as big as the gap between Joe and Jaylon Moore.
What the hell is holding up this signing? Holding out with 3 years left on your deal is criminal. At this point I'm willing to just let him sit. This is ridiculous.

Trent doesn't need training camp grind. Practice. You talking about practice.

This dude just doesn't want to do training camp. It's not complicated.
The Niners will guarantee some of the money they already planned to pay him (with protections for retirement) and a small bump that looks bigger than it is in reality.
And we will move on. This one is not hard.
