If it's even guaranteed for retirement TW is really trying hard to **** us

I have never heard of guaranteed for retirement. That would be leaguewide suicide lol.
At this point Williams and Aiyuk look like 2 turds in the Niners super punchbowl.

I believe it is still guaranteed for retirement.

I doubt that. If it was then players would just retire after they signed one of those guaranteed contracts. Why would they risk a serious injury? If they retire because of a serious injury then it's probably guaranteed. At least a portion of it. Every contract has different wording.

There are different types of guarantees. Injury guarantees, cap guarantees and skill guarantees. Very few contracts are guaranteed for all instances. That's often what holds up these contract negotiations. The exact wording is important.

I think he left like 9 million dollars on the table when he was on the Commanders and sat out the season.
We have to make moves that win chips and not be in the business of satiating players. I would do Trent just like Defo. You either take a very lucrative near top of market deal or we will trade you and move on because we can't keep doing what we did with Bosa with every good player. If BA and Trent don't report to play at a respectable rate they can sit down and watch their teammates play from home and the fines will be enforced. The point has to be made so players understand going forward

We just can't be spending irresponsibly because our desperation to win a Super Bowl is high but let's see how desperate these guys are to sit on the couch getting fined while we hold their rights to play for us the next couple years. Then we just paid Trent two years ago.

We have Brock who is next up to be paid and he's still gonna do just fine without these two players because he's just the right kinda QB To withstand this extortion that's been going on

A health scare but if he wants us to do something stupid after just resetting the market with him a couple summers ago I wouldn't do it at all. These guys want to be payed like a QB when we have an actual QB that needs to be paid and hasn't and then we haven't won yet

Ridiculous!

Didn't the Lions try to sue Calvin Johnson to give the remaining guaranteed money that was left on his contract when he retired?

Teams can also go after any bonus money that was paid out for that season.

Extortion is a good word for what BA and Trent are doing. f**k em both.
I wonder if the Niners would have drafted a tackle early if they knew this was going to happen with Trent. No way were they going to be comfortable going into the season with Moore as the starting LT.

I'll have to look into it but there's a difference between a player actually getting the money and it counting against the salary cap, right?
If they would actually pick offensive line early more often we wouldn't have to be in this terrible position.

If worse comes to worse I wonder what kind of trade value Trent has at this stage of his career. Still the best LT in the league but he is 36 and is asking for the moon.

many of us wanted OT with our 2nd pick and were pissed off we literally handed the last one to KC
