many of us wanted OT with our 2nd pick and were pissed off we literally handed the last one to KC

He looks like a star too. Imagine Kingsley and Puni. 2nd and 3rd. That would fix a lot of problems.

They were comfortable with Mckivitz at RT without even adding competition says all you need to know

Exactly. They penny pinch on the o line. and the FO knew this was coming as soon as they paid CMC.

Trent should have let the team know prior to the draft that he was intending on doing this. But he waits until late July. he didn't want the team to draft his replacement because he loses leverage.

That's a doubled edged sword though. Look at the depth we have now at corner with Green.

Exactly.

Good business by him but my only
problem is if it's about money why must these guys insist they get it here? Loaded teams can't hand out to every great player top of market deals. Those type deals are more likely to come from a bottom feeder so if too if market is what one desires then why not be open to go play on a team that's likely to be picking top ten next years draft?

Different situations

Trent is 36 and has a handful of years remaining. Once he is done we have nothing as an acceptable plan B at LT

CB we have young players who we can choose to pay if we need to keep them

Green was a luxury pick when we had a need and it matched the BPA on the board

Green was more than a luxury pick. Our top 2 corners are both free agents at the end of the year.

Pearsall was the luxury pick, or Guerendo. Why can't we trade up for a tackle or stand pat and take the top center in this draft.

I was hoping they would keep Drake Nugent also, but looks like he is gone too...
Damn

Ya, were plenty deep. Not to worry.
If they can make it mutually beneficial, great. If it's a rape and pillage move on Tw's side, let him retire…or find a trade.

Agreed but tbh my gut tells me this is exactly it. TW is about the money.

I am between laughing and being depressed because we saw this com ing one way or another and this is why I kept on about pounding o line early and often this past draft, but nope.

Kyle said at the start of camp they had considered TW would do this, but were hoping he didn't and unfortunately he did.

I have no idea why they take these SB run crippling risks. For all the disagreeing people have on here it's fairly unanimous TW is the most important piece and they should have started addressing that asap.

tbh I cannot see us winning it all without TW, but if we cave then it's this year and after that the roster gets blown up.

I wouldn't worry about it. The chances the 49ers even get back to the SB back to back is not statistically in their favor. Not to mention the odds that they actually shut down Mahommes or the KC Zebras or the league making them sway the calls to benefit the larger profit pool with the betting pot.

The 49ers need to up their offers slightly and say that's all we're gonna do,play or lose $, to BA and TW.
Especially TW but also BA ( or any NFL starter) it's not like he/they ever have to worry about getting in line at the free soup kitchen or going to the food bank ,or their generations to come.

Fans care about rings but most player's it's the money and only the $ that matters 1st,2nd & 3rd.

If I were fortunate enough to be one of them I'd probably be the same way, but for people that actually work for a living see athletes, who have been spoiled from around College on, holdout, whine and complain because they want to make 30 million per year instead of 26-28 the sympathy goes out the window.

I logically agree and emotionally hope we're wrong. After we lost I said odds are we missed our chance again. Purdy gives me hope but you'd think they build him a wicked o-line.
