Why is it that these players sign contracts (sometimes max paid for the position at the time), then decide in the middle of the contract it's not worth it anymore and start requesting for more ? Front offices should coalesce and come to terms that any player that pulls this kind of stunt loses paychecks by not suiting up gameday.

I'm sick of Trent and BA. Don't want either of them at this point, regardless of the toll it will take on the roster.

What about the owners that cut a player in the middle of the contract?

They need a better cba.
Switch Puni over there. He's our best lineman at this point.

And I am the opposite. I am sick of our front office screwing around and not going all in for a Superbowl this year. There is zero reason why BA and Trent shouldn't have been locked up at this point.

To say you don't care even if it hurts our team is insane to me.

Do the terms "integrity" and "principles" mean anything to you?
Or is it more about winning no matter the cost?
Of course we "care". But really whose being insane here?

PS: The sad reality is that the NIners will probably capitulate. I'd be so much prouder of the organization if they didn't. It's not a forgone conclusion that they cannot win without those Cretans.

When you say "no matter the cost" what you are really saying is "regardless of the future."

So yes, I ama saying its more about winning now than thinking about the future. The future isnt guaranteed. We have a team that is in the SB conversation now. Why mess that up worrying about 2026 and beyond? Makes no sense. There are a large percentage of posters on this site that have never seen a Superbowl win. The QB from our last SB win is in his early 60s now, for gods sake.

Blows my mind that people are concerned with the future over now. We arent going to have this team forever.

Then who plays RG?

Feliciano is on IR. Burford is still recovering from his injury and hasn't had a live practice yet. Zakelj is that backup to Banks who is not fully healthy yet either.

Moore is the only option at this point.

They are locked up....
.TW isnt even close to FA and BA is 4th yr with a contract on the table. I would say we are in a good place at WR.....not so much OL.

You know what I mean.
No more distractions . Happy retirement Trent… time to focus on who's here.

If Trent wanted to continue playing after this year the 49ers would be in control. IMO dude is ready to retire now which gives him all the control. He's daring the 49ers to say no.

That has been my take. He is ready to walk away but if the 49ers make it worth his premium price to stay, he will stay. Otherwise, he will work on his handicap and have fun with the boys.

Perhaps but I think he would have made that known much earlier in the offseason… pre draft even. I think he's bluffing, sure he held out once before… but this is the end of the line. He knew he was going to play football again the first time he held out. I think he'll get the itch to play again this time around

  • Do you think a player close to retirement has any value if he sits out a year? I dont. He is getting old, father time doesnt get postponed because he sits out.

Let's hope. He holds all the cards. The team will be lucky to win 10 games without him.

Yea for sure… but the brightside is IF he does get the urge to play again we'll get a healthy tackle in time for a playoff push

They certainly need to think outside the box. What that means exactly involves discussion, or bargaining, I suppose.

God that's scary but true.... what's the waiver wire look like and is there some type of trade out there. Geesh we are in trouble. I wonder if the odds will change vs the Jets.
