He'll have $20.25 million in remaining guarantees in 2025. His previous contract had $23.35M in cash flow in his previous year. They'll probably pull more money from year 3 of his old deal to give him a bump in compensation next year. Then he'll be year-to-year from that point on. We don't know the total guarantees yet, meaning he could see more of his money become guaranteed on April 1 2025.

Old deal: $20.05 million 2024 salary + $100k workout bonus + $750k per game bonus = $20.9 million in cash flow for 2024
New deal: $1.21 million 2024 salary + $25.69 million 2024 signing bonus + $750k per game bonus = $27.65 million cash flow for 2024

$7.6 million bump. $2 million in mandatory fines. $5.6 million in profit.

Old: 20.05M (2024 salary) + 100k (2024 workout bonus) + 750k (2024 per game bonus) + 3.647M (2023 restructure proration) + 1.09M (2022 restructure bonus proration) + 6.020M (2021 signing bonus proration) = 31.657M cap hit in 2024.

New: 1.21M (2024 salary) + 5.138M (2024 signing bonus proration) + 0.750M (2024 per game bonus) + 3.647M (2023 restructure proration) + 1.09M (2022 restructure bonus proration) + 6.020M (2021 signing bonus proration) = 17.855M cap hit in 2024.

Savings: 31.657M (old) - 17.855M (new) = 13.802M in cap savings for 2024.

They can absolutely extend Lenior. Dude doesn't want to sign right now. Hopefully they can sign him before FA hits.

next yr it will be him and Brock will be the priorities.

I agree - he should be a priority. I wish they could sign him rn cause I think he is going to just get more expensive. He's going to have a big year imo
The Silverback is back! Lets go!

He does look out of shape though.

does he?

No way he's in shape and him and Yuk will be lagging just like Bosa did until they get practices and games under their belt.

Have to think this is most likely Trent's final year before retiring. Thus wants to get paid. Gonna enjoy this season as a fan no matter what

Why would you think it's his final yr? Dude is still elite. He just wanted a raise/GTD $.

Early on it looks that way,...plus his previous comments. 1+1 usually equals 2. He'll probably be mulling it over after the season.

To that point, Jerry Rice contemplated retirement around Super Bowl 29, before playing another 10 years. With that said, I could see Trent walking before Jerry did. Especially if he gets a ring.

Jerry's a very "different" kinda guy.
Eddie D is the father figure for the 49ers he has taught his kids that It is important to take care of his players. Eddie spent money on getting the best players, even his second stringers were good and well paid. Trent wasn't really worried about his financial future he knew he was going to get paid. Now we can get back to focusing on the Jets. Let's see how good this team is, nobody is going to give them anything, every game is going to be a challenge.
Lol fr why

Trent is different. He's gonna be a rock game one immediately erasing pressure from the left side. He's better than Bosa even at 36

How about you look at his previous comments back in February. Literally said the exact opposite.
